Goku’s Perfected Ultra Instinct (Giant Form) is basically Dragon Ball Super‘s answer to Naruto‘s Susanoo, sometimes even being jokingly referred to that way, and it’s officially set to return in 2027. This is noteworthy because Goku has only used it twice thus far in the Dragon Ball Super manga: once against Moro in the finale of the Galactic Patrol arc, once against Gas during the Granolah the Survivor arc. Its return in 2027 doesn’t add a third, but it is an exciting update nonetheless.
For those unfamiliar, Goku learns to project a spiritual avatar of sorts (as large, if not larger, than a Susanoo) during the Galactic Patrol arc of Dragon Ball Super. Goku’s main antagonist in this arc is Moro, and by the time he becomes a major threat, Goku had already reached Perfected Ultra Instinct. His battle with Moro eventually escalated after Moro gained enormous power by absorbing Merus’ abilities. After struggling to defeat Moro normally, Goku pushed Ultra Instinct even further and manifested a gigantic version of himself, allowing him to overpower Moro on a completely different scale physically. The result is Perfected Ultra Instinct (Giant Form), a massive energy avatar of Goku that lets him pin down the planet-threatening villain before ultimately finishing the fight.
Perfected Ultra Instinct (Giant Form) in Xenoverse 3
Now, it seems fans will be able to use this ability (if not play as the Giant Form) in the upcoming release of Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3. In an interview with TheGamer, producer Masayuki Hirano explained that the Galactic Patrol arc will not be included at launch because the manga storyline was announced after development had already begun. However, he did call the Galactic Patrol arc one of the “first updates” for Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3, following sometime after its initial release in 2027 (reported to be early 2027).
Rearrange the covers into the correct Japanese release order.
While this is not outright confirmation that Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 will include this form, there is a reason that the Galactic Patrol arc is often called the Moro arc. It would not be a Galactic Patrol update without Moro. And if Xenoverse 3 introduces Moro, then it needs to push Goku beyond the limits in the game so far. Even if it manifests as an ability of Perfected Ultra Instinct Goku, many fans would no doubt enjoy the gameplay as a Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 Goku transformation. It would also be an exciting ability for the CAC.
Beyond this, it’s worth highlighting that the producer says the team wants to support Xenoverse 3 as it did with Xenoverse 2. That leaves a huge door open for brand-new, manga-exclusive content to make its way to the Dragon Ball game. For fans who have spent years waiting to see the Dragon Ball Super manga properly represented in games, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 could therefore become much more interesting after launch.

Meanwhile, fans can look forward to the remake of Dragon Ball Super: Beerus in October 2026, as well as the Dragon Ball Super manga to continue soon. There’s a lot of waiting for franchise fans right now, but it’s sure to all pay off—just like Perfected Ultra Instinct (Giant Form).
