Valve has officially unveiled the pricing and sales date for its Steam Frame virtual reality headset. The announcement comes months after two of the three new pieces of Valve hardware, namely the Steam Machine and Steam Controller, were fully unveiled and put on sale, with Valve’s Steam Frame having left fans waiting for quite some time.
Steam Frame Pricing and Sales Revealed
Valve has now fully revealed the pricing and release information for the Steam Frame, with two available options. The 256GB version of the Steam Frame is going on sale for $1,059 USD, while the 1TB version is being sold for $1,299. Those who are interested in purchasing one can sign up to join the waitlist on the official site prior to September 17 at 10 am PT. Valve explained that it will close the list at that time and randomly select entrants, and will email everyone within one day to inform them whether they’re still on the waitlist or if they’ve been selected and moved to the reservation queue. The first groups selected will be able to purchase the new headsets starting on September 18. Past that point, members on the list will be chosen and notified as Steam Frame units become available. Interested gamers should be aware that they will only be given 72 hours from the notification that they’ve been selected to make their purchase, or the opportunity will be given to another person in the reservation queue.
