Coming from solo developer Joel J Games, Fall From Space is a brand-new open-world action RPG available exclusively on the Game Boy Color. The game has been released physically via ModRetro, and the cartridge and box can be purchased for $44.99. It features an original retro soundtrack by Beatscribe, as well as custom cover art by artist Mitsuhiro Arita, best known for his work on Pokemon TCG.
Fall from Space is an epic open-world, non-linear Action RPG. Journey across multiple strange worlds. A solar system inside a cartridge, filled with side quests, encounters, secrets, and upgrades.
Joel J Games describes Fall From Space as being an “open-world RPG with Metroidvania style platforming,” featuring a branching story in which player decisions affect the ending, working alongside a karma system. And there are multiple endings, giving the game plenty of replayability beyond its touted 7-10 hours of gameplay. Each world that players explore features numerous side quests and encounters to complete. According to the developer, the Fall From Space cartridge works on Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, the ModRetro Chromatic, and the Analogue Pocket, and has been in development for almost five years.
