Zelda: Temple of Seasons is Out Now

The Legend of Zelda franchise is one of the most critically-acclaimed and popular video game franchises in the world. Ocarina of Time is the highest-rated game on review aggregate site Metacritic with an astonishing 99 rating that will likely ensure it never loses the top spot, while various other main series Legend of Zelda games dominate the top 10 and beyond. Nintendo continues to release new Legend of Zelda content on a regular basis, whether that’s through brand-new video game releases, merch drops, or re-releases of older games.

Most of the older Zelda games are readily available to play on modern hardware, largely thanks to Nintendo Switch Online’s Nintendo Classics library. The Nintendo Classics library features games from the NES to the GameCube, including the majority of Zelda titles that were released on Nintendo’s various platforms over the years. Among these games are the Game Boy Color games The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages and The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons.

Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake Shows Adult Link Gameplay

Nintendo shows off new gameplay footage of the adult version of Link in the Switch 2 remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

Zelda: Temple of Seasons is Out Now

A new fan-made game made by a user named Jay lets players experience The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons in a fresh way. The Legend of Zelda: Temple of Seasons is a five-dungeon fan project that notably includes new items for players to utilize, which should hopefully shake things up for longtime Oracle of Seasons players. It’s one of many fan-made Zelda games out there, and can perhaps help fill the gap while fans wait for new official releases from Nintendo.

The next Zelda game from Nintendo will be released on November 5 in the form of the Ocarina of Time remake. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake is a full-blown remake of the Nintendo 64 classic, complete with significantly overhauled visuals that take advantage of the Switch 2’s beefier hardware. The Ocarina of Time remake isn’t just a graphical upgrade, though. It also includes some notable gameplay changes and quality-of-life tweaks, like the addition of dedicated run and jump buttons. It is easily one of the most highly-anticipated new games right now, and should make a big splash when it finally launches.

Those that would prefer to stick with official Nintendo-made Zelda games to keep them busy while they wait for OoT to drop should note that they can access the majority of them on Switch 2. Thanks to the Switch 2’s Switch Online + Expansion Pack service having GameCube games, Wind Waker is playable on the platform, as is nearly every Zelda game that preceded it. Fans can even play the N64 version of Ocarina of Time on Switch 2.

Nintendo Quietly Drops Super Mario Update

There are still some Zelda games missing from the Switch 2’s library. Twilight Princess is notably absent, with that game stuck on GameCube and Wii, and its HD version stuck on Wii U. Many Zelda fans tuned in to the recent 40th Anniversary Direct with hopes of seeing a Twilight Princess port announced, but no such project has been revealed just yet. Hopefully, fans can keep themselves busy with fan-made projects like Temple of Seasons, official Zelda releases from Nintendo, and other ventures like the upcoming Zelda movie that’s set to release in April 2027.
