PlayStation Plus is currently offering one of 2025’s most acclaimed open-world RPGs: Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. The big-budget medieval adventure set in joined Sony’s subscription service in late summer 2026 and is thus expected to remain in the PS Plus catalog well into 2027 at a minimum.
Released in February 2025, the sequel to Warhorse Studios’ 2018 historical RPG Kingdom Come: Deliverance continues the story of Henry of Skalitz in 15th-century Bohemia. Rather than leaning on magic or superhuman abilities like so many RPGs do, the Kingdom Come: Deliverance games build their identity around grounded combat, layered social systems, hardcore survival mechanics, and a world designed to react to the player’s behavior, all in the service of maximum immersiveness.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Is One of the Highest-Rated PS Plus Titles

Sony added Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 to PS Plus on August 18, making it available to both Extra- and Premium-tier subscribers. The move massively strengthened the RPG selection of the company’s subscription catalog. With an average score of 89 and a 95% recommendation rate on OpenCritic (based on 175 reviews), Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 currently ranks in the 99th percentile of all games scored on the aggregator platform, which naturally places it in an even higher percentile among PS Plus RPGs.
Game Rant awarded Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 a 10/10 upon its original release, praising its massive, immersive world, immense dedication to player agency, consistently memorable storytelling, and rewarding questing, among other qualities. More broadly, Warhorse Studios’ latest title was 2025’s second highest-rated RPG on OpenCritic across all platforms, behind only Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter, which surpassed it in average score and recommendation rate by one and five points, respectively.

Commercial success matched that level of critical acclaim, with Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 immediately establishing itself as a major hit and recouping its costs within 24 hours on the market. Embracer Group said in February 2026 that the game had surpassed five million copies sold within its first year, reaching half of its predecessor’s lifetime sales in one-eighth the time. Its remarkable reception also translated into awards-season recognition, highlighted by four nominations at The Game Awards 2025 and a Narrative award at the 22nd BAFTA Games Awards, among other honors.
Both Kingdom Come Deliverance Games Are Currently on PS Plus
Playing the first game in the series is not a strict requirement for understanding the gist of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2‘s story. However, there is no reason for PS Plus users to miss out on any character development because both the first and second installment is currently available on Sony’s subscription service. The original Kingdom Come Deliverance has most recently joined the PS Plus catalog in late June 2026, marking the start of its second stint on the service. Prior to that, it was available to Extra and Premium subscribers between June 2022 and May 2023.

Based on historical PS Plus Extra precedent, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 could remain in the catalog for anywhere from roughly six months to two years, though a 12-month run appears to be the most reasonable expectation. That would make August 2027 the key removal window to watch, while an earlier exit around February 2027 remains possible. A longer stay into late 2027 or 2028 is also plausible, particularly given that fellow Deep Silver release Dead Island 2 remained available for nearly two years.
