The modder behind an unofficial Nintendo Switch port of Grand Theft Auto 5 is shutting down the project just days before it was set to release after allegedly receiving a cease-and-desist letter from Take-Two Interactive. This comes about a week after the same creator publicly taunted Rockstar over its recently updated modding policy that banned porting GTA games to other platforms.
On September 28, as spotted by GamesRadar, GTA modder Mojso announced on X that they were closing down Paralympics Productions and would no longer develop or release a Switch port of Rockstar’s open-world game Grand Theft Auto 5. Over the last few weeks, Mojso has been sharing gameplay clips and screenshots of their work running on Nintendo’s hardware and promising a public release would be coming very soon. Take-Two’s lawyers appear to have successfully put the kibosh on that plan.
“Paralympics Productions is shutting down on October 3rd,” Mojso posted on September 28. “Thank you everyone who supported us through tough times and lengthy development. I am sorry for not fulfilling your expectations and leaving you high and dry. I am thankful for Take Two’s mercy, so this is the definitive end.”

Mojso further explained that Take-Two had sent them a cease-and-desist and implied that if work on the project continued, they could face a full lawsuit, something the modder wanted to avoid.
“I’m not an idiot to go against Take-Two,” explained Mojso on social media. The modder also claimed that they can’t release any code or assets from the port for others to work on, as that would also open them up to potential legal action from the publisher.
When someone said that Rockstar would lose in court against the modder, Mojso disagreed and added: “I wouldn’t win in court most likely. They have solid grounds, and with me being cocky it shows real intent for ‘mayhem, ‘ so I can’t even appeal to a jury or something like I didn’t know what I was getting into.”
A possible example of “cocky” behavior from Mojso includes a tweet they shared on September 20 directly referencing Rockstar’s updated rules around mods and fan ports. The new rules forbid modders from porting Rockstar games to other consoles or platforms, which is exactly what Mojso was attempting to do.
In response to the updated rules, the modder tweeted: “Try me, Rockstar. IDGAF.”
When someone on Twitter shared this very tweet with the modder, Mojso replied: “They tried me. Fuck you want me to do? Fight with them in court? I wasn’t expecting them to hit back hard.”
