Sega and Sports Interactive have announced that Football Manager 27 is coming to Xbox Game Pass in mid-November 2026. The day-one release will launch on two tiers of the service, continuing Sega’s long-standing support for Xbox Game Pass.
Football Manager has been a recurring presence on Microsoft’s subscription service for years, though the series did not become a consistent day-one offering until FM22. Its next two installments followed the same pattern before Football Manager 25 was canceled in February 2025 after multiple delays. Sports Interactive subsequently extended FM24‘s availability on subscription services until its next release, effectively keeping it around for an extra year. Football Manager 26 then debuted on Game Pass in November 2025, meaning FM27 will mark the fifth consecutive mainline entry to launch day one on the service.
Coming Day-One to the Xbox Game Pass Catalog
The streak is now set to continue on November 10, which was just officially confirmed as Football Manager 27‘s release date. Like most modern day-one releases on Xbox Game Pass, the management sim will be available through the Ultimate and PC Game Pass tiers. From a catalog standpoint, the November 10 launch will count as two new additions, as subscribers will once again be able to choose between FM27 on PC and FM27 Console on the Xbox Series X/S. The latter will also serve as the cloud version of the game because Microsoft’s streaming infrastructure runs on custom Series X hardware. FM27 will officially support handheld PCs, while dropping support for the Xbox One.
The upcoming installment is largely positioned as a refinement of the substantial and somewhat controversial overhaul introduced by Football Manager 26, the first entry in the series built using the Unity engine. It will introduce several interface changes aimed at reducing the number of clicks needed to access commonly used information, while expanding full-screen displays, adding native support for more screen sizes, and making bookmarks more customizable. A new Tactical Effectiveness system is also part of the package, making it easier for players to gauge how well they have trained a given strategy.

Sports Interactive is similarly revisiting several parts of the wider simulation experience. Cup Draws and Transfer Deadline Day are returning, while transfer AI and player decision-making have been adjusted to be more realistic. Heat Maps are also making a comeback, and a new Continue Flow system will let players control how frequently simulation processing stops to display news, messages, results, and other information relevant to their virtual management careers. The game will also feature a wider variety of stadiums and crowds, along with dynamic lighting, improved weather effects, 3D grass, and more elaborate pre- and post-match press conferences.
Football Manager 27 will be just the latest in a long list of Sega titles to reach Microsoft’s subscription service in the 2020s. The Japanese publisher already has two day-one releases confirmed for beyond 2026, with Persona 4 Revival coming to Xbox Game Pass in late February 2027 and Persona 6 set to follow afterward, possibly as early as late 2027 if recent rumors prove accurate.
