Rockstar Officially Previews GTA 6's Radio Stations

Rockstar Games has officially revealed several of the radio stations featured in GTA 6, giving fans an early taste of what they can expect from Leonida’s soundtrack. The latest GTA 6 update offers a closer look at one of the series’ most anticipated and beloved returning features.

Driving around and simply listening to the radio has been a huge part of Grand Theft Auto for decades, with each game using licensed music, DJs, fake advertisements, and talk shows to give its setting a signature personality. Rockstar says GTA 6‘s soundtrack will feature the franchise’s “biggest and widest-ranging selection of in-game radio and podcasts yet,” covering everything from classic rock and pop to talk radio and more. Fans have finally gotten a look at what is to come, and it seems a major station closely tied to the original Vice City will be back in Leonida soon.

Cocoteo FM: Modern Latin music hosted by Bad Bunny and RaiNao, appearing in-game as El Martillo and La Gata.
Back Country Radio: Country music hosted by Morgan Wallen and Lana Del Rey, appearing as MW and Delta Dawne.
AfroBank FM: African classics, amapiano, and 3-step hosted by Burna Boy and Palms Trax.
The Chamber 106.6: Heavy metal hosted by Slayer members Kerry King and Tom Araya.
Flash FM: The returning Vice City pop station, hosted by Robyn and Alex Consani.
Dirty South Classics: Regional rap and hip-hop hosted by Trick Daddy and Trina.

In a recent GTA 6 blog post, Rockstar previewed six of Leonida’s stations, each focused on a different corner of the game’s musical lineup. The revealed stations feature a broad range of sounds and cultures, including Latin music, Southern rap, country, metal, African music, and pop. What’s more, Rockstar seems to have gone all out with celebrity hosts, using massive artists like Bad Bunny, Lana Del Ray, and Florida’s own Trick Daddy and Trina as in-universe personalities. While the full soundtrack has yet to be revealed, GTA 6‘s current radio lineup looks quite strong, and fans may be especially pleased to see Vice City‘s iconic Flash FM back after 24 years.

The actual tracks themselves seem just as varied as Leonida’s radio station lineup. Rockstar’s station previews include songs like MGMT’s “Electric Feel,” Slayer’s “Raining Blood,” Loretta Lynn’s “Don’t Come Home a Drinkin’,” Charli XCX’s “Good Ones,” Pantera’s “I’m Broken,” and Asake’s “Joha.” Fans can even check out some of the music previews on Rockstar’s official website right now. Much like its predecessors, GTA 6 seems to have a radio dial that can jump from country to metal to pop in the span of a few button presses, and it should satisfy fans across a broad range of music tastes. However, Rockstar has shown only a fraction of the current song lineup, so plenty of tracks and stations will probably remain under wraps until launch.

Beyond the radio, GTA 6 brings a major change fans have been asking about for years. For the first time in the franchise’s history, Jason and Lucia can keep listening to music after leaving a car by using headphones or earbuds connected to their smartphones. Rockstar is also adding on-demand podcasts that players can listen to while driving and while exploring Leonida on foot, although the names of the actual podcasts haven’t been announced yet.

Rockstar still has plenty more music to reveal before GTA 6 launches on November 19. The company has also announced Grand Theft Auto 6: The Album, a separate 34-track collection of original music featuring artists such as Travis Scott, Yung Lean, Future, Metro Boomin’, Morgan Wallen, Rauw Alejandro, Keith Richards, PinkPantheress, and Fred Again. While GTA 6 has assembled what looks like a pretty varied and diverse sonic palette, Rockstar is still making sure players have only heard a small part of it without spoiling the full experience when the game launches next month.
