Pokemon GO developer Scopely Explore has revealed that the next Community Day event will focus on Pawniard, a Dark/Steel-type from the Unova region. Pokemon GO Community Day events put the spotlight on a single Pokemon, ensuring that players can easily locate it during a specific window in the game. Community Day events also increase the frequency of encounters with that Pokemon’s Shiny version, making them much easier to find than they would normally be.
Players put in a lot of effort to catch Shiny Pokemon, thanks to their rarity and unique colorations. The increased frequency of Shiny spawns on Community Day is a big part of the appeal for that exact reason, as it gives players a chance at getting one without putting in the kind of time normally required. Shiny Pawniard and its evolutions all abandon the predominantly red color patterns found on the standard version, swapping it out with a deep blue coloration.
Pokemon GO‘s Pawniard Community Day event will take place on Saturday, November 21 from 2 PM to 5 PM local time. Pawniard has two evolutions: Bisharp and Kingambit. Kingambit takes some effort to evolve in Pokemon GO, requiring that the player have 100 Pawniard Candies and defeat 15 Dark or Steel-type Pokemon in Raid Battles, while having Bisharp as a Buddy Pokemon that’s also part of the team used. Scopely Explore is lowering that requirement as part of Pawniard Community Day, requiring that players defeat just 1 Dark or Steel-type Raid Boss with Bisharp as part of the team. This change will apply to all Bisharp, even if they aren’t the Buddy Pokemon. The requirements will revert at 9 PM local time on that day.

In addition to the temporary evolution requirements, Pokemon GO players can look forward to several other bonuses during Pawniard Community Day. All players will receive double Candy on catches, while those over level 31 will have a doubled chance of getting Candy XL. Eggs placed in Incubators during the event will require 1/4 the amount of distance to hatch. Incense used will last for three hours, though this doesn’t apply to Daily Adventure Incense. Through 9 PM local time on Community Day, players will need half the amount of Stardust for trades, and they can make up to two Special Trades. Lure Modules will last for an hour when used in that same time frame, with players having a chance at encountering Pawniard.
The Pawniard event will mark the final Community Day for the current Twilight Trails season. Scopely Explore revealed a list of dates for Pokemon GO Community Day events back in August, without offering specific details about the featured Pokemon. That has gradually changed throughout the season, as each featured Pokemon was announced ahead of those dates. Twilight Trails will come to its conclusion on December 1, but Scopely Explore has offered no details regarding the next theme. The developer will likely release a trailer sometime in November, teasing which Pokemon will be added, as well as some of the events that will take place.
With the November announcement, there’s just one Pokemon GO Community Day event left to be revealed before the end of 2026. December Community Day events typically feature all the Pokemon that were given the spotlight throughout the year, and it tends to serve as a make-up for those that were unable to participate on certain days. It can be pretty helpful in that regard, but it’s unclear whether the developers will keep that trend going as they close out 2026.
