In its latest update, Steam has added a brand-new Personal Calendar feature to its store page. This new Steam Personal Calendar feature will give players tailored recommendations based on the games they’ve put the most hours into.
According to SteamDB, an average of around 70 new games were added to Steam every day last year. With this immense output, it’s often difficult for players to separate the wheat from the chaff and find experiences that they know will genuinely suit their interests. The Steam front page already does a decent job of highlighting featured discounts, new releases, and recommendations based on games users have played before, but this latest Steam update takes things up a notch.
Steam Rolls Out Personal Calendar Feature
Steam has just officially launched the Personal Calendar feature for all users. The Steam Personal Calendar offers a new way to view recommendations on the front page, focusing primarily on games that have just released and games that are coming out in the next few months. Unlike Steam’s other methods of recommendation, the Personal Calendar bases its results on the games users have recently sunk the most time into.
More specifically, the Steam Personal Calendar works by taking the games users have recently put multiple hours into, finding other profiles with similar playtime behaviors, and recommending games based on the other titles those users have been playing and wishlisting. While the Personal Calendar is refreshed daily, Steam states in its announcement post that users are unlikely to see significant changes in their calendar every day as the system focuses on finding games that are very similar to those users have put the most time into. Just booting up a game or two for an hour is unlikely to affect the recommendations shown in the Steam Personal Calendar.
This new Personal Calendar feature actually made its Steam Labs debut in October 2025. For the best part of a year, the Personal Calendar has been the subject of thorough testing, ensuring that its global launch version is refined and ready for all users. In its announcement post, Steam describes some of the refinements it’s made to the Personal Calendar over the last year. These improvements have included better filtering tools and display options for wishlisted games, Steam Early Access titles, and DLC, as well as the ability for developers to specify a date they intend to release from Early Access to 1.0. “Extensive work” was also put into ensuring the Personal Calendar works smoothly across PC, mobile devices, and other SteamOS devices.
Steam’s new Personal Calendar feature should be visible on the platform’s homepage for all users. Alternatively, Steam users can follow this link to find their Personal Calendar. To see what other in-development projects Steam is working on, users just need to head to the Steam Labs page, where they’ll also be able to sign up for any experiments they like the look of.
