Pokemon fans have noticed a strange pattern in the franchise’s official Japanese social media posts, and it could be pointing toward a major announcement at the end of November. The Pokemon franchise has spent much of 2026 celebrating its 30th anniversary, with new games, special events, and announcements throughout the year. There’s still plenty of time for another surprise before 2027, which The Pokemon Company is teasing.
Pokemon has a long history of teasing announcements without revealing exactly what’s coming, giving fans plenty of opportunities to speculate. It’s especially common around Pokemon Day and major franchise milestones, when even the smallest details can lead to theories about new games, remakes, and other projects. Of course, these theories don’t always amount to anything, but the latest mystery is particularly interesting because the numbers appear to follow an incredibly specific pattern.
New Pokemon Franchise Announcement Happening October 30
As shared by Serebii’s Joe Merrick, Pokemon‘s official Japanese account may be counting down to November 30, 2026. The account shared a mysterious post featuring the Pokedex number 1025 on October 18, followed by another featuring 843 on October 26. Interestingly, exactly 182 hours passed between the two posts, and 1025 minus 182 equals 843. Assuming the numbers represent an hourly countdown, the account would reach zero on November 30 at 14:00 UTC, or 9 AM ET. It would be unusually precise coincidence, although The Pokemon Company hasn’t confirmed that a countdown is actually happening.

Many fans no doubt hope this will be the Pokemon Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald ports for Switch 2, but there may be another clue in the posts themselves. Merrick pointed out that the visible Japanese translates to “Pokemon and,” with the rest of the message scribbled out. It’s unclear what comes after those words, but the deliberate omission certainly adds to the mystery and potentially suggests some new Pokemon collab.
Find the odd one out before the timer hits zero.
Merrick also acknowledged that a third data point is needed to properly establish the countdown theory, as twice could be a coincedence despite how specific it appears to be. If another Pokemon post appears with a number matching the hours remaining until November 30, it would make the theory considerably more convincing. As for what Pokemon could be teasing, there’s no shortage of possibilities, but there’s currently no evidence connecting the mysterious numbers to any specific project. .
Still, the numbers lining up perfectly with the time between posts is difficult to ignore, and there’s a good chance fans will be watching Pokemon’s Japanese accounts particularly closely over the coming weeks. The next mysterious number could either strengthen the theory or throw the entire thing into question. Whatever the explanation, it’s an interesting development for the Pokemon games’ 30th anniversary, and November 30 is now a date worth keeping an eye on.
