Derek’s love of games came at an early age when his parents first brought home the Nintendo Entertainment System. From then on, countless nights were spent hunting ducks, stomping turtles, exploring far off planets, and combing through dungeons with a trusty sword and shield. Originally growing up exclusively with Nintendo products, Derek’s perspective grew to include other platforms ranging from Sony, to Microsoft, the PC, and more. As his views and opinions grew, so did the desire to connect with other players and video game fans. In 2011, his writing adventure began on his personal blog, eventually joining up with the GameRant crew in 2015. He currently covers everything from features and guides, to the latest breaking video game news.
Alongside the Season 1 update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 on November 6, Infinity Ward is planning to add a limited-time Wager Match Event, which also includes exclusive unlocks and rewards. It’s been a strong start for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, thanks in large part to positive word of mouth from players, especially those who were able to play the Campaign and DMZ during Early Access, as well as extremely strong reviews from critics.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Wager Match Event Details
As part of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4‘s Season 1 reveal event, Infinity Ward also confirmed the arrival of Wager Matches. As part of the revealed roadmap of content, Season 1 adds a new Wager Match Event across multiple modes within Modern Warfare 4, including DMZ, Warzone, and Gunfight. Essentially, players will be able to complete challenges as well as enter the Gauntlet 1v1 Gunfight playlist to earn trophies, which also serve as the currency for this event. Specifically, players will need to wager their trophies before the Gunfight match begins, with the winner staying on. Winning multiple matches will claim the wagered reward.
Naturally, all of that effort will be rewarded. There will be Mastery Rewards available to chase, including Operator Skins, Blueprints, Weapon Camos, and new Apex Attachments for Modern Warfare 4 players. In fact, for those that are able to make it into the Top 3, they’ll be eligible to compete for extra rewards as well. Some rewards for this event include the highly requested Kastov 762 Assault Rifle Apex Attachment and Hyeon Auto Apex Attachment.
