Brand-New Co-Op Sim Game on Steam Launches to 93% Positive Reviews

Hubble Bubble is a brand-new co-op simulator game that lets gamers run a hookah lounge alongside up to three friends. This new Steam co-op game is already proving to be a huge hit with players, launching with 93% positive reviews on the platform.

Hubble Bubble is the first title from indie developer Parita Games, a two-person studio based in Istanbul. The developer describes itself as being small enough that “the person who wrote the code might also be the one answering your email,” while also reiterating its goal to create co-op games that are “for people playing together, whether they’re in the same room or on the same call. The kind where the funniest thing that happens was nobody’s idea.” With its mission statement public, it seems Parita Games is off to a great start with Hubble Bubble.

New Steam Game Like Zelda: The Wind Waker Is the Perfect Warm-Up for Ocarina of Time

A new Steam adventure game channels Zelda: The Wind Waker with colorful puzzles and combat, and you can play it ahead of Ocarina of Time’s remake.

Hubble Bubble Lets Gamers Run a Hookah Lounge With Friends

New co-op simulator game Hubble Bubble launched on Steam on October 23, where players dock at a space station and must run a hookah lounge. The game features a bunch of small, engaging minigame activities as the core gameplay loop, which involves keeping the lounge running while keeping customers happy. These customers have different needs, so players need to remain attentive to ensure they get it right. Players can upgrade their lounge with the money they earn for a little bit of extra progression.

Like many recent co-op games, physics drives the chaos in Hubble Bubble. Everything in the lounge is based on real physics, including the players. “Touch a hot coal and you catch fire, stand in front of the wrong hatch and you get launched into space, fall from too high and you hit the floor like a sack of potatoes,” says the developer. It’s intended for 1-4 players, and the proximity chat feature adds extra mayhem to the co-op gameplay. To top it off, gravity in the space lounge will occasionally cut out at random, and everything will start floating around players. But customers still expect their orders to be delivered, adding another dimension to Hubble Bubble.

Co-op hookah shop sim for 1 to 4 friends. Run Ghalyan’s Hookah Lounge on a space station: pack the bowl, light the coals, serve the aliens and act normal. Nothing on this station is normal.

Hubble Bubble Key Features

  • Run and upgrade a hookah lounge
  • Keep customers happy through completing minigames
  • Physics-based gameplay
  • Online co-op with 1-4 players
  • Proximity chat

So far, Hubble Bubble hasn’t attracted a significant player base on Steam. According to SteamDB, its all-time peak concurrent player count is 566, and it spends a lot of time in double digits. But the reviews tell a different story. On Steam, it has “Very Positive” reviews at the time of writing, with 93% of players leaving a positive review. So it’s not a quality issue – just a discovery one.

Developer Parita Games has already released several post-launch updates adding new content to Hubble Bubble. Updates are arriving on a daily basis, so not only is it already a really fun co-op game to play with friends, but it looks like it’s only going to get better in the future, too.
