Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 has just had a multiplayer playlist refresh, bringing a handful of new mode variations to the shooter. Most notably, this playlist refresh has introduced the SHRANSIT mode to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, a particularly chaotic map rotation.
At launch, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 offered 12 core 6v6 maps, four Gunfight arenas, a new randomized Kill Block mode, and a total of 17 distinct multiplayer modes, including original experiences like Collateral, Inflation, and Hijack. Yesterday, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 received its Season 1 update. During this first phase of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Season 1, three new maps and three new modes have been added to the game, along with new weapons, DMZ content, and more.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Adds SHRANSIT Mode
To celebrate the start of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Season 1, Infinity Ward has refreshed the game’s featured multiplayer playlist. This refresh has added the new SHRANSIT mode, which offers a rotation of Shipment, Shoot House, and Transit 213. Given that these are all close-quarters maps, players can expect SHRANSIT to be quite the chaotic playlist. Additionally, a Hardcore variation of SHRANSIT is also available, just in case players want an even more intense and unforgiving experience.

If the comments on Infinity Ward’s Twitter announcement of this new playlist are any indication, however, not everyone is excited about SHRANSIT’s arrival. On October 27, Infinity Ward added the incredibly popular Call of Duty map Shipment to Modern Warfare 4, highlighting it on launch with a dedicated Shipment 24/7 playlist. At the time of writing, it seems Infinity Ward has removed Shipment 24/7 from the featured playlist section of Modern Warfare 4 multiplayer, and it appears many fans would rather have it back than have to experience Shipment through SHRANSIT or randomly through an alternate playlist.
While SHRANSIT might not be everyone’s cup of tea, there are plenty of new playlist additions to check out this week. Kill Block 24/7, Season 1 Moshpit, Kill Block 6v6 Gunfight, and Possession now all have dedicated playlists on the MW4 main multiplayer menu. Of course, players will still be able to use the Quick Play filter to manually select the individual game modes they want to play as well, but these dedicated playlists offer a way for players to just jump right into a specific type of action.
Multiple new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 multiplayer modes are expected to launch with the mid-season update in a few months’ time. While most of these new modes haven’t been revealed just yet, Infinity Ward has shed some light on Counter Attack, a mode that will see players planting bombs on an opponent’s comm station while simultaneously defending their own.
