Borderlands 4 Patch Notes for November 6 Wish List

Borderlands 4 Patch Notes for November 6 Wish List

Borderlands 4 has now been out long enough now that it’s easy to see what it’s still missing. The next major update for Borderlands 4 is set to arrive on November 6, and while Gearbox hasn’t detailed what it will include, there are certainly things that should make the cut.

Borderlands 4 already has a solid foundation, but several areas still feel like they’re about one or two tweaks away from something special. Some of these changes are realistic, others a bit more wishful, but all come from the same place: wanting to see Borderlands 4 reach the potential that’s clearly there.

Borderlands 4 Endgame Improvements Are Wishful But Justified Thinking

One thing that has consistently been a criticism of Borderlands 4 is its endgame — or lack thereof, according to some. Right now, a sense of long-term progression and challenge is missing from the endgame, to the point that there is little incentive to keep pushing once players reach Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode 5. Much of this is due to how Borderlands 4‘s loot drops work, in that players don’t have a greater chance at getting significantly better gear on higher difficulties, which all but trivializes UVHM.

To put it simply, Borderlands 4‘s endgame is essentially non-existent. By and large, it relies heavily on repetitive boss farms and weekly Wildcard missions, but Gearbox could introduce multi-stage raids, timed challenge events, or rotating world modifiers to change how players approach otherwise familiar encounters. For the last few weeks, Reddit threads have been filled with players asking for fresh reasons to revisit Borderlands 4‘s best content, and not just slightly tougher versions of it.

The crux of all this might actually be how Borderlands 4 masquerades as a live-service game without fully committing to the model. As such, it raises expectations for more content beyond what a normal non-live-service game might offer, and that’s presumably where a lot of its endgame criticism comes from. The only downside to making requests for a better endgame is that, not only is it less likely to happen sooner than something like a performance or quality-of-life patch, but it ultimately boils down to the game’s design and is therefore a far more challenging issue to fix. Still, it would be nice to see the November 6 patch have at least something dedicated to improving Borderlands 4‘s endgame.

Loot Fixes Are the Patch Wish Borderlands 4 Needs Most

One of the biggest frustrations players have voiced about Borderlands 4‘s current loot system is that the grind simply doesn’t feel rewarding. Even after hours of farming, it’s possible to go long stretches without seeing a single worthwhile drop, and when those drops finally do seem to happen, the odds of it having the right combination of parts or stats are painfully low. In the end, that makes the process of farming legendary items in Borderlands 4 more exhausting than exciting, especially when white and green rarity items continue to clutter the ground even at the highest difficulty tiers.

Beyond Borderlands 4‘s drop rates, though, players argue that the loot system in general just doesn’t respect their time. The grind to find decent upgrades often results in most legendary drops still rolling with poor or incompatible parts. Players on Reddit have suggested that Gearbox should either scale out lower-rarity drops in Ultimate Vault Hunter levels or increase the likelihood of relevant loot appearing for each character class. Many of the same posts also call for tweaks to vending machines and Lost Loot systems to make farming more efficient, claiming that small quality-of-life changes could go a long way toward making the grind more thrilling to pursue, and the upcoming November 6 patch would be a perfect time to implement improvements like these.

Quality-of-Life Fixes Sit Among Borderlands 4’s Most Hopeful Wishes

And, of course, there is always room for more quality-of-life improvements in Borderlands 4, with some that have been a long time coming and are still not here yet. Now that Borderlands 4‘s player count seems to be dwindling, there’s arguably no better time to give the game’s quality of life the shot in the arm it needs to maintain the player base it has left and potentially even draw some of it back in.

Quality-of-life improvements Borderlands 4 could use in the next patch:

  • Extractable firmware storage – remove firmware from weapons and store it separately to prevent bank clutter.
  • Expanded bank capacity – larger storage to support build experimentation without constant item purging.
  • Dedicated bank tab for parts or firmware – a separate category for components to keep inventories organized.
  • Crafting system refinement – a Grinder-style or Diablo-like reroll mechanic that keeps farming engaging but balanced.
  • Vehicle mobility improvements – faster traversal options or improved hover mechanics for smoother exploration.
  • More relevant Class Mod drops – Class Mod drops are currently weighted against the active Vault Hunter class.

Whether any of these changes will happen in the November 6 patch remains to be seen, but it could be a really big moment for Borderlands 4 if it does. A stronger endgame, fairer loot balance, and a few long-overdue quality-of-life upgrades could easily reignite interest in the game, even among those who have already moved on. For now, all players can do is wait and hope Gearbox sees this wish list as proof that its most devoted players still want Borderlands 4 to succeed.
