Right now, it’s undoubtedly the best window for players to farm Chaos Armor via Diablo 4‘s Infernal Hordes prior to the start of Season 11 next month.
After initially being planned for earlier in November, Diablo 4‘s Compass to Carnage event began earlier this week, bringing great bonuses to Infernal Hordes until December 2. The main change is the introduction of increased Chaos Waves during Infernal Hordes, which provide massive Aether boosts compared to a normal wave. Throughout the event, players have reported that ten-wave runs have often reported four or five Chaos Waves, while six-wave runs are frequently delivering two Chaos Waves. Players also receive more Aether when sealing Chaos Rifts, which do sometimes appear during Infernal Hordes Chaos Waves. Ultimately, the event makes it much easier to reach the 666 Aether requirement to face Bartuc at the end of Infernal Hordes, even when using the shorter six-wave versions of Infernal Compasses, which is what players need to take advantage of right now.

Diablo 4’s Compass to Carnage Event is The Best Use of Your Infernal Compasses Right Now
Any player who has been hoarding Infernal Compasses throughout Diablo 4 Season 10 really should consider using them during Compass to Carnage. By taking advantage of the event bonuses until December 2, players have more opportunities than ever to fight Bartuc, who is guaranteed to drop one piece of Chaos Armor at Torment 3 and above. It’s a tough fight, but one that many players at this late stage in the season will be ready to take on. Those who are still missing some pieces of Chaos Armor from their ideal Diablo 4 Season 10 build can round it out much quicker than before. It’s not all about the seasonal benefits, either – players can also farm items with Greater Affixes via the Infernal Hordes, which will transfer to the eternal branch when the season ends.
It’s also important to note that because Chaos Armor is a seasonal Diablo 4 mechanic, the items will lose their seasonal power when Season 10 ends on December 9. And while it may appear again in the future, there’s no guarantee of this, meaning it could be players’ last opportunity to play with Chaos Armor. Spend the Infernal Compasses now and grind the Infernal Hordes, or risk missing out on fully experiencing one of the coolest seasonal mechanics Diablo 4 has ever implemented. Once Compass to Carnage is gone on December 2, obtaining these items will go back to being a bit of a slog until Season 11, and that wouldn’t exactly leave much time to actually have fun with them.
For the unaware, Chaos Armor allows players to wear pieces of equipment in different slots than intended. Players benefit from this by being able to combine them with regular items, allowing for more build diversity than ever. Despite this, Chaos Armor hasn’t felt overpowered to the point where it’s game-breaking, which has made it a massive hit among players. There was even a call from the community to add Diablo 4 Chaos Armor to Season 11, and make it a recurring feature. Blizzard has made seasonal content part of the base game in the past, so it wouldn’t be totally unprecedented, but admittedly, it feels unlikely. That’s why players should spend the Infernal Compasses to get as much Chaos Armor as possible right now.
Diablo 4 Season 11 is expected to launch on December 10, following Season 10’s conclusion a day earlier. The next season will bring a big overhaul to Masterworking and Tempering, as well as the Divine Gifts and Sanctification gear system seasonal mechanics.
