New PS Plus Extra and Premium Games for December 2025 Officially Revealed

PlayStation Plus subscribers now have eight more games to look forward to in the Extra tier and one more to look forward to in the Premium tier. The Extra tier of PlayStation Plus is the middle tier of the service, giving subscribers access to the monthly free games that make up the Essential tier along with a large library of PS4 and PS5 titles. The Premium tier adds retro games to the mix, and ultimately gives subscribers the most bang for their buck.

December 2025 has already been a busy one for PS Plus subscribers across all tiers, with more Essential-tier free games than usual. Currently, PS Plus subscribers across Essential, Extra, and Premium can claim Killing Floor 3, LEGO Horizon Adventures, Neon White, Synduality: Echo of Ada, and The Outlast Trials completely free of charge.

When It Comes to the Free PS Plus Games for December 2025, Some Fans Are Getting Short-Changed

PlayStation officially releases the latest PS Plus Essential games for December 2025, but some subscribers are being short-changed.

What’s weird is that not only is LEGO Horizon Adventures one of the free PS Plus games for December 2025, it’s also been confirmed for the Extra library, and will make its debut on Tuesday, December 16. LEGO Horizon Adventures was confirmed for the Extra tier along with Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Cat Quest 3, Granblue Fantasy: Relink, Paw Patrol: Grand Prix, Paw Patrol World, Planet Coaster 2, and Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty. PS Plus Premium subscribers can look forward to those games plus the PlayStation 2 version of popular fighting game Soulcalibur 3.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage is the headliner when it comes to the new PS Plus Extra games for December 2025. A throwback to older Assassin’s Creed games, Mirage earned mostly positive reviews at the time of its release. Other notable new additions include Cat Quest 3, a fun co-op action-RPG, and Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, a challenging Soulslike that first hit the scene in 2023.

PS Plus Extra and Premium subscribers will get to play these games starting December 16, which will mark the Extra tier’s second update for the month. Skate Story was added to PS Plus Extra as a day one game on December 8, giving subscribers the chance to play a critically-acclaimed game on the very day of its release.

List of PS Plus Games Leaving on December 16

  • 11-11 Memories Retold
  • Arcade Paradise VR
  • Battlefield 2042
  • Firefighting Simulator: The Squad
  • Forspoken
  • Grand Theft Auto 3 – The Definitive Edition
  • River City Melee Mach!!
  • Sonic Frontiers
  • Star Trek: Bridge Crew
  • Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge
  • Surviving Mars
  • Touhou Genso Rondo: Bullet Ballet

There’s plenty for PS Plus subscribers to be excited about when it comes to the new additions for December 16, but that same day will see some games removed from the service as well. Notably, Battlefield 2042 is leaving PS Plus on December 16, and it will be joined by games like Forspoken, Grand Theft Auto 3: The Definitive Edition, and Sonic Frontiers. The VR lineup for PS Plus is also taking another hit on that day, with subscribers having to part ways with Arcade Paradise VR and Star Trek: Bridge Crew.
