Xbox fans are getting a surprise gift to close out 2025, with 50 games added to the console’s “Stream Your Own Game” library. The iconic Microsoft gaming brand has seen a busy year throughout 2025. The year saw some of Xbox’s most beloved franchises make the jump to PlayStation for the first time, with Gears of War and Forza releasing on the PS5 and Halo even confirmed to receive its first game on a Sony console with Halo: Campaign Evolved.
Xbox’s Cloud Gaming initiative has seen a major push throughout the year with plenty of new games added to the service. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members can gain access to Xbox Cloud Gaming as part of their subscription, with a wide library of games available to play without the need to download. Xbox’s Stream Your Own Game library includes hundreds of games available for players to stream, including some of gaming’s hottest new releases like ARC Raiders, Borderlands 4, and Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. Now, Xbox has added several more games to its Stream Your Own Game library.

Xbox Stream Your Own Game Library Gets 50+ New Games
Xbox added more than 50 different games to its Stream Your Own Game library throughout the month of December. The lineup of games includes some particular fan-favorite games in the mix, with AI: The Somnium Files and Octopath Traveler 0 among the more notable additions. Xbox’s new streamable games also include some lesser-known games from popular franchises and properties, including Hatsune Miku, Romancing SaGa, and Jackbox Party. The update also saw both Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 made available for streaming through the Essential tier of Xbox Game Pass.

While a litany of games were added to Xbox’s streaming services throughout the course of the month, Stream Your Own Game has also seen some notable recent removals. A pair of Dragon Quest games were removed from the service at the end of November, with both Dragon Quest Builders 2 and Infinity Strash: the Adventure of Dai no longer able to be streamed. Indie action game Mechstermination Force was also removed from Xbox’s Stream Your Own Game service in late November.
Xbox Continues to Push Cloud Streaming
The growing library with Xbox’s Stream Your Own Game service comes as the developer has continued to push its alternative platforms. Xbox partnered with ROG to launch the ROG Xbox Ally in October, with fans able to stream games to the handheld. Xbox’s cloud streaming has also seen a big push throughout the year, with Microsoft even revealing it is working on a free ad-supported version of Xbox Cloud Gaming. Microsoft did not provide an official release window for its free cloud streaming service.
Xbox’s 2026 looks to be a pivotal year for the gaming brand, with lots of big-name releases on the way. Xbox is set to welcome the long-awaited return of the Fable franchise in 2026, while Gears of War also has another big release on the way with Gears of War: E-Day. Xbox fans should keep an eye on the gaming brand throughout the next year, with Microsoft setting itself up for a big 2026.
