Epic Games Store Users Have Less Than 24 Hours to Claim 2 Free Games

Gamers have been treated to a number of free downloads over the holiday season, and players have a limited time before the newest round of weekly deals are set to expire. For Epic Games Store fans, both Total War: Three Kingdoms and Wildgate are still available for free, but audiences need to act fast, as both are only up for grabs until 11am ET / 8am PT on January 8. Interested fans will want to grab these quickly from the Epic Games Store before the free offers expire and both titles return to their standard pricing.

The Epic Games Store holiday giveaways included a number of AAA and indie hits, ranging from big names like Hogwarts Legacy, Disco Elysium – The Final Cut, and The Callisto Protocol to smaller titles such as We Were Here Together, Sorry We’re Closed, and Paradise Killer. While many were happy to see such a variety of games on offer by Epic Games Store throughout December, many of the titles were only available for free download for a couple of days, and many have been patiently waiting for offers with a longer download window. Luckily, EGS has kicked off 2026 with a return to form with its weekly giveaways, but those first week’s freebies are now set to expire on January 8.

Steam Users Have Until January 10 to Claim 8-Player Game Completely Free of Charge

Steam users have the chance to add yet another game to their digital library, but only if they claim it by January 10.

Last Chance Deals for Free Games on Epic Games Store

Total War: Three Kingdoms is a turn-based real-time strategy game where players build an empire in ancient China and carry out conquests in epic battles. The game is the 12th mainline entry in the Total War video game franchise and boasts “Very Positive” ratings across critical and audience review sites. For those seeking a more fast-paced gaming experience, Wildgate is a PvPvE multiplayer shooter that features intergalactic spaceship combat and FPS gunplay action. Having just launched in July 2025, Wildgate has been praised for its combination of ship battles, extraction gameplay, and three separate game modes that give fans a variety of ways to approach everything the game has to offer. Total War: Three Kingdoms and Wildgate normally retail for $59.99 and $29.99, respectively, making the free offer a worthwhile pickup for RTS or FPS fans before the deal expires.

As mentioned, the Epic Games Store has finally returned to its weekly free game giveaways, and while the offers for Total War: Three Kingdoms and Wildgate are almost expired, the next freebie has already been confirmed. Beginning January 8, players will be able to grab Bloons TD 6 as a free download. Bloons TD 6 is a colorful tower defense strategy game and holds “Overwhelmingly Positive” reviews on Steam and a 4.9/5 score on the App Store. Normally retailing for $13.99, Bloons TD 6 tasks players with strategizing the best way to defend a tower from evil Bloons with an army of adorable yet fierce monkeys. The game will be available as the free Epic Games Store download from January 8 until January 15, after which another new weekly EGS deal will begin.

One of the biggest benefits of PC gaming is not only the massive library of titles available but the frequent deals and discounts offered by Epic Games Store, Steam, Itch.io, and other PC platforms. Of course, console gaming also has a number of free downloads available through PlayStation Plus and Xbox Game Pass, though the latter can also benefit PC players, thanks to the PC Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. Both Xbox Game Pass and Epic Games Store remain two of the most popular platforms for gamers looking to enjoy frequent free downloads, and with Epic Games Store offering weekly deals, in tandem with Game Pass’s monthly updates, PC fans have plenty of fresh content and many more freebies to look forward to in 2026.
