Steam Users Have 7 New Games That They Can Claim Now Completely Free of Charge

Steam Users Have 7 New Games That They Can Claim Now Completely Free of Charge

The past few weeks have been very good to Steam users. The popular gaming storefront has given a handful of games away recently, including 8-player game Billie’s Wheelie (which is still available until January 10 at 12 CT), Caveman World: Mountains of Unga Boonga before that, and now there’s a veritable explosion of free games available on Steam.

Of course, there are plenty of free-to-play games on Steam, but the recent drops still deserve praise and attention. After all, if players pick them up and don’t enjoy them, there’s no harm. They’re free. It also means there are free PC games to consider beyond the weekly Epic Games Store giveaway, which are also nice. Free is always nice. Epic Games Store users can claim free games every Thursday, and Steam users should keep an eye out for free drops too—with 7 new games available to claim on Steam absolutely free of charge.

Claim 7 New Free Games on Steam

This Steam free game list includes multiplayer arena game Ktrl Smash, an anime Poker game called Poker Fate, indie space shooter Space Aces, parody sci-fi game Humanoid, Drunk Driving Simulator, deckbuilding roguelike game Rogue Slots, and roguelike racing game Once Upon a Shell.

Ktrl Smash is a chaotic, fast-paced arena brawler where the goal is to simply get the most kills possible before the timer hits zero. With stylized characters, players can pick up weapon and stat boosts around the arena. This includes the basics like speed and damage boosters, but also fun antics-based weapons like baseball bats and chairs. Meanwhile, Poker Fate is a Steam poker game that blends Texas Hold’em, anime visuals, and 2D characters into a flashy, fanservice-heavy experience. It’s a niche mix of online multiplayer card gameplay and stylized presentation that leans hard into its ACG identity.

Space Aces is an indie arcade shooter on Steam that delivers classic top-down space combat with modern upgrades and multiple ship builds. Fast-paced runs, escalating difficulty, and tight controls make it a solid pick for fans of retro-inspired shooters. Joining it is Humanoid, a minimalist retro action game that throws players into frantic run-and-gun combat across dozens of compact rooms. With a strict time pressure system and escalating enemies, Humanoid feels like a stripped-down arcade-style shooter built for quick Steam sessions.

Drunk Driving Simulator is a physics-driven indie simulator on Steam that leans into absurdity, challenging players to control a car as visibility and handling steadily worsen. It’s a short-form comedy simulator built around chaos, timing, and intentionally frustrating controls, and obviously not something glorifying the dangerous real-world action. There’s also Rogue Slots, a roguelike game that turns a slot machine into its core gameplay loop. Each run is built around spinning reels to trigger attacks, upgrades, and passive effects, blending randomness with light deckbuilding-style progression.

Finally, there’s Once Upon a Shell. Using a charming storybook art style, Once Upon a Shell is a roguelike racing game based on the Hare and Tortoise race. Playing as the Tortoise, players will need to find speed and movement upgrades to prove that sometimes slow and steady wins the race, but also do it fast.

As of this writing, it’s uncertain how long these games will be free on Steam for, so players should act quickly and add them to their libraries. Again, free’s free.
