ARC Raiders is Permanently Banning Cheaters

ARC Raiders is Permanently Banning Cheaters

Developer Embark Studios continues its fight against the onslaught of cheaters in its hit third-person extraction shooter, ARC Raiders, as it begins permanently banning those who are caught cheating. Like many live-service titles, ARC Raiders has been inundated with cheaters following its hugely successful launch in October. But with some of the game’s biggest streamers calling for Embark to make some big changes, it looks like the studio has now taken things to the next level.

ARC Raiders has been hugely successful for developer Embark Studios, but the fame always comes with its downside, as the game’s sheer popularity has also attracted the attention of cheaters and hackers. Despite only being three months old, ARC Raiders has already been taken over by aimbotters, exploiters, and just about every type of cheater you can think of. Thankfully, the studio isn’t turning a blind eye to the problem, as it recently issued a statement addressing the cheating issue in ARC Raiders. Embark says it is taking the matter extremely seriously and is currently in the process of implementing significant changes to its rulesets and deploying new detection mechanisms to identify and remove cheaters.

This ARC Raiders Concept Would Solve Some of Players’ Biggest Gripes

A dedicated ARC Raiders player has designed a concept that Embark Studios may want to take note of, as it would solve some of players’ biggest gripes.

ARC Raiders Cheaters Are Now Being Permanently Banned

While Embark says it is taking the cheating problem seriously, fans and streamers appear to be growing tired of seeing very little action from the studio. This week, one of ARC Raiders‘ biggest streamers threatened to quit the game if Embark doesn’t make some quick fixes to the number of cheaters running rampant. “Fix this, or I’m actually out of here,” TheBurntPeanut said during a recent live stream after being repeatedly killed by the same three hackers. While he would later go on to say that it was a “heated moment” and understands Embark is working hard to make the game great, the studio has clearly heard the complaints from Peanut and his fellow streamers, as it has now begun permanently banning cheaters.

Embark first began banning cheaters in ARC Raiders earlier this month, but fans took a huge issue with the fact that these were merely temporary suspensions and not permanent bans. Now, following the complaints from TheBurntPeanut and other streamers, the studio appears to be banning players who are caught cheating permanently. “After a month long of them doing nothing, your rant made the difference in them finally taking action. Use your voice more,” fellow streamer Thump said, revealing that the cheater in question had now been permanently banned from ARC Raiders.

TheBurntPeanut may be the biggest ARC Raiders streamer around right now, but he isn’t the only one who is frustrated with cheaters ruining the game. Earlier this month, former Counter-Strike and Valorant pro Shroud, who also regularly livestreams ARC Raiders, said that Embark has “no control” over its game. Similar to Peanut, Shroud blasted ARC Raiders and also threatened to quit the game completely if no action is taken. While regular players are also encountering cheaters, streamers are facing additional issues, as they are constantly being stream-sniped by hackers, making every single game of ARC Raiders nearly impossible to play.

Hopefully, this will be an important step in Embark’s fight against cheaters, with further anti-cheat improvements to come. The studio has yet to reveal the 2026 roadmap for ARC Raiders, but a developer did recently reveal that there are multiple maps set to be released over the next 12 months. It is also rumored that a new Toxic Swamp map modifier could be arriving as early as next week, but this has yet to be made official by Embark.
