This year marks the 35th anniversary of Blizzard Entertainment, and to celebrate, the company plans to make major announcements for key franchises such as World of Warcraft, Overwatch, Hearthstone, and Diablo. Similar to Microsoft’s annual Developer Direct livestreams, these “developer-led spotlights” will kick off soon and will also serve as a celebration of Blizzard and its history.
Each livestream will be broadcast through YouTube and Twitch channels, with the first one being a World of Warcraft State of Azeroth presentation on January 29. Here’s the full list of livestreams on the way:

To kick things off, Blizzard also uploaded a short video that’s full of nods to its past. It’s only 90 seconds long, but it shows a long table adorned with approximately 400 artifacts from Blizzard’s physical archives, showcasing the company’s 35-year history.
Later this year,BlizzCon makes its grand in-person return. Tickets went on sale last year, and the company has teased some big reveals for the opening ceremony in September. One rumor is that a third-person shooter set in Blizzard’s sci-fi franchise StarCraft could be the main event at BlizzCon, alongside expected reveals for another Diablo 4 expansion and new details on World of Warcraft’s The Last Titan expansion.
In adjacent anniversary news, 2026 also marks the 25th anniversary of Xbox and the 40th anniversary of Bethesda.
