Code Vein 2 Endings Guide – How To Get All 3 Endings

Code Vein 2 features three different endings, but unlike many similar games, they don’t require you to enter New Game Plus to access them. Instead, they unlock after meeting certain conditions in the main story, allowing you to pick up after your previous ending to see another one through. Meeting these conditions will require some work on your part, though, as you’ll need to change the past at four separate points to reach the game’s true ending. Whether you do this before the first ending or choose to knock it out later will be up to you–but we’ll fill you in on what to expect below.

Note: Spoilers for Code Vein 2’s story ahead.

All Code Vein 2 endings

There are three endings in Code Vein 2. The first ending unlocks automatically, while the other two are continuations of the story accessed in their own way.

First ending: A Hero’s End

A Hero’s End unlocks after beating Valentin at Luna Racapis. This is the default ending and will always trigger regardless of your choices throughout the game.

Second ending: Luna Fraterna

After defeating Valentin, you’ll roll credits on Code Vein 2. However, a certain charismatic companion has a trick up his sleeve. When you return to the main menu after beating the game, Zenon will be pointing at the Continue button, hinting that there’s something more you need to do.

After watching some scenes explaining your next steps, you’ll head to 2207: The Upheaval Era to follow a new story path leading you to the game’s second ending. Sadly, at the very end of the process, things don’t go quite how you planned, leaving just a bit more to the story if you’ve met the right conditions…

Third ending: Miraculous Bonds

Code Vein 2’s third ending requires you to have completed all of the Timeline Shift Decisions for the characters you’ve met and helped in each of the game’s main areas. There are four Timeline Shift Decisions, and each one leads to a lengthy time-hopping journey that sees you find peace for each of these companions:

  • Noah
  • Josée
  • Holly
  • Lyle

Thankfully, each of these missions can be knocked out at any time before or after beating Valentin for the A Hero’s End ending.

Once you’ve completed every Timeline Shift Decision, you’ll be able to head to the main menu and select Rescue Lou instead of Continue. This sends you on a linear final mission separate from the main game. Reaching the end will unlock the game’s true ending.

Code Vein 2 is available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC.
