There Are 2 New Switch 2 Exclusives Releasing Next Week

Two games exclusive to the Nintendo Switch 2, Tokyo Scramble and Mario Tennis Fever, will be releasing back-to-back on February 11 and 12, respectively. The diversity of games available on the Nintendo Switch 2 has helped the hybrid console gain a lot of popularity since its release last June. The next two console exclusives could help keep that momentum moving forward, as their themes, visuals, and content make for a stark contrast to one another.

While the original Nintendo Switch just became the company’s best-selling console of all time, with more than 155 million units sold since its launch in March 2017, its successor is on a trajectory that could potentially leave it in the dust. Earnings reports from Nintendo show that the Switch 2 had moved more than 17.3 million units by December 31, 2025, making it the fastest-selling video game console ever made. While there were some initial complaints about the threadbare nature of its catalog during its launch last June, Nintendo and third-party developers have beefed up the library considerably since then, and two exclusive entries coming in the second week of February 2026 show off the breadth of the Switch 2’s growing library.

Upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 Games For 2026

Mario, Pokemon, and Resident Evil are just some franchises that will be releasing Switch 2 games in 2026.

Mario Tennis Fever Launches on February 12

Of the two console exclusives making their debuts soon, Mario Tennis Fever, releasing on February 12, comes with the most fanfare. Developed by Camelot Software Planning, the studio behind several previous Mario Tennis and Mario Golf titles, the next sports game starring Mario and his crew will feature the special additions of 30 different Fever Rackets, allowing players to add a number of special effects and conditions to their matches through powerful Fever Shots. After building up their meters by participating in rallies, Mario Tennis Fever‘s Fever Rackets will allow players to break the traditional rules of the sport through mechanics that include creating a doppleganger of their character, sending a Pokey onto the court to trip opponents up, covering portions of the field of play with fire or ice, or just knocking their opponents out by wiping out their HP meters.

A roster of 38 familiar Mario characters has been confirmed for Mario Tennis Fever, including the Mario brothers, Bowser, Yoshi, Peach, Daisy, Toad, Wario, Waluigi, Donkey and Diddy Kong, and a slew of generic Mario series enemies. There have also been four different game modes confirmed for Mario Tennis Fever, with players able to participate in Tournament, Adventure, and Trial Towers modes, along with Mix it Up, a highly customizable game mode that lets players set up a variety of special rules for their matches. Considering that this will be the first Mario Tennis game released since 2018’s Mario Tennis Aces on the original Switch, which sold 4.5 million units by the end of 2022, it’s likely to prove itself as a popular Mario sports entry with fans.

Tokyo Scramble Launches on February 11

The other Switch 2 exclusive game for the second week of February is Tokyo Scramble, an unorthodox survival puzzle action game set in the subterranean underground of Japan’s capital city. Playing as cheery high school student Ann and accompanied by her professional dancer brother Ray, players will need to utilize quick thinking to evade Zinos, mysterious dinosaur-like creatures that inhabit the caverns under Tokyo. In a strange blending of game genres, players will have to assess their enemies for weaknesses and keep cool heads in order to reach their goal of making it back above ground. Tokyo Scramble launches on February 11.

Potential players haven’t had a lot of time to prepare for the arrival of Tokyo Scramble, as it was only just announced during the Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase on February 5. With less than a week between its announcement and launch, it’s hard to say how gamers will react to such a bizarre combination of genres, but developer Adglobe’s contributions to past games like Brave Frontier 2 and Fate/Grand Order may inspire some confidence that their next venture will be a success on Switch 2.
