Grand Theft Auto 6 has officially reached the halfway point between its second trailer and release date. Few games in recent memory have garnered the same level of worldwide hype and media attention as the twice-delayed crime sim. Not only is there less than a year to go before Grand Theft Auto 6 hits store shelves, but fans are now in the back half of the wait since the last trailer.

GTA 5 has become one of the most profitable entertainment products of all time, so its sequel was bound to make an impact one way or another. While the next game has yet to come out, its presence has already been felt in the industry. Despite all this, there’s still a good deal about GTA 6 that fans don’t know, with only two trailers being released so far, but the period of uncertainty and mystery is starting to wrap up.

Some major developments recently surfaced regarding Grand Theft Auto 6’s upcoming marketing, potentially setting a new standard for other projects.

GTA 6 is Now Halfway Between Trailer 2 and its Release Date

The GTA 6 Countdown Twitter account, which has been regularly posting updates about the game, has pointed out that February 11, 2026, marks the halfway point between GTA 6‘s second trailer and release. Rockstar revealed GTA 6‘s record-breaking Trailer 2 on May 6, 2025, back when the game was still slated for a May 2026 release. As of the time of writing, that means it dropped exactly 281 days ago, and there are 281 days left to go until the revised launch date of November 19, 2026.

Over 280 days may sound like a lot, but hitting the halfway point between the last trailer and release feels like a breath of fresh air. It also pales in comparison to the roughly eight years the game has been in development. That remaining wait seems all the shorter when considering that GTA 6‘s first trailer dropped more than two years ago, so when using that announcement as a baseline, the wait is far past the halfway mark. Some may still feel wary about the milestone given the game’s previous delays, but Rockstar seems confident that GTA 6 will meet its November release target.

While there hasn’t been another trailer in the past 281 days, that could come to an end before too long. At its most recent quarterly earnings report, Take-Two Interactive, Rockstar’s parent company, said it will start marketing GTA 6′s launch this Summer, so new information will come out in the coming months. During that presentation, Take-Two also confirmed the November 19 release date and shot down the idea that it would be digital-only at launch. How many new details will come out in the new marketing material is uncertain, but these upcoming marketing efforts will likely address at least a few remaining questions, most notably, how much the game will cost.

It’s clear that GTA 6 is a big-budget game, and this, alongside rising costs across the industry, has raised fears of a high price tag for gamers. Some have even suggested it could be the first $100 game. Thankfully, at least one insider has said GTA 6 likely won’t cost $100, despite possibly becoming the most expensive title ever made. Of course, it’s impossible to say anything for sure until Rockstar makes a formal announcement, which hopefully won’t be long now. If nothing else, fans know they’ll learn more in less time than what’s passed since the second trailer was released.
