Fortnite Leak Reveals Potential Crossover With Classic Square Enix Franchise

A popular Fortnite leaker has claimed that a collaboration with Kingdom Hearts is now in active development, which means fans could see their favorite characters from the franchise come to Epic Games’ battle royale at some point in the future. Disney has a long history of collaborating with Fortnite, even going so far as to launch multiple season-long crossovers with Marvel and Star Wars. While many iconic Disney characters like Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and Goofy haven’t made their way to the battle royale just yet, a Kingdom Hearts collaboration could change that.

Kingdom Hearts made its initial debut in Japan on March 28, 2002, though it did come to North America later that year. Bringing the original Kingdom Hearts to the PlayStation 2 was a joint effort by Disney and Square Enix. The two companies managed to create a unique franchise unlike anything else in gaming at that point, as it features a wide variety of characters from Final Fantasy, Pirates of the Caribbean, Toy Story, and many more. However, the story often focuses on the journey of original characters like Sora, Riku, and Kairi. The franchise has been around for over 20 years, and in 2022, Square Enix officially revealed that Kingdom Hearts 4 was in development, though the company has not shared a release window with the public.

Kingdom Hearts 4 May Finally Be Pulling the Trigger on a World Players Have Wanted for 20 Years

A new Kingdom Hearts 4 leak may have revealed its worlds, and if true, a long-awaited Disney franchise might finally be included.

Kingdom Hearts May Be Coming to Fortnite

In a recent post on Twitter, the prominent leaker ShiinaBR revealed that a collaboration between Fortnite and Kingdom Hearts is now in active development. While many leaks tend to focus on collaborations that are close to making their official debut, it seems as if this could still be a long way off. As of right now, there’s no way of knowing which Kingdom Hearts characters could be coming to the game or how large the crossover may be. It’s also probably best for fans to take this information with a grain of salt, as things can always change. While many leaks do come to fruition, it’s always possible for a project to be delayed or canceled completely, especially when it hasn’t been officially announced.

Shortly after leakers revealed that the crossover was in active development, fans began to speculate about what this could mean for Kingdom Hearts 4. Some people suggested that this could be good news for the sequel, as it’s possible that Epic Games might be planning to launch the crossover alongside the highly anticipated title. This isn’t a completely outlandish idea, as it has happened with other gaming collaborations in the past. In fact, there’s an ongoing promotion right now that will grant players the Grace Ashcroft skin in Fortnite for pre-ordering Resident Evil Requiem. There’s no way of knowing if Epic Games might be coordinating something similar for Kingdom Hearts 4, but a lot of fans seem to have gotten their hopes up.

Another leak recently revealed that Overwatch could be coming to Fortnite with the launch of Chapter 7 Season 2 on March 19, 2026. Various leakers have claimed that Tracer, Mercy, Genji, and D.Va will be coming to the battle royale, though there’s no word on whether the characters will be bundled together. One leaker stated that an Overwatch character will be featured in the battle pass for Chapter 7 Season 2, but was unable to provide further details.

While gamers may have to wait to get their hands on characters from Overwatch and Kingdom Hearts, another collaboration is just around the corner. Epic Games has officially announced that it will be launching a crossover between Fortnite and Honkai: Star Rail on February 26, which will feature the characters Blade and Kafka. With so much content to enjoy and even more on the way, many fans are feeling optimistic about the future of Fortnite.
