Stardew Valley creator Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone has finally released an update patch for Stardew Valley: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, which brings a number of crucial bug fixes for crafting, the option to completely disable mouse controls, and adjustments to Switch 2 GameShare features. Stardew Valley: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition brings all the main elements of the original game, along with key enhancements to graphics, local multiplayer, and gameplay mechanics, but some have been struggling with various bugs that now appear to have been sorted.
When Stardew Valley first released in 2016, many were delighted by the adorably pixelated farming life-sim game. Players and critics alike praised its wholesome storytelling, diverse mechanics, and memorable NPCs, and the game has since gone on to cement a legacy for itself as one of the best life-sim video games of all time. Fans were happy to see an improved version of the game making its way to the Nintendo Switch 2, and despite some early complications on the developer side, ConcernedApe has reassured fans that Stardew Valley: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition is being actively worked on to bring the best experience to players.

What is Included in the New Stardew Valley Switch 2 Update?
In a social media post, ConcernedApe shared a brief set of patch notes for the February 2026 update for Stardew Valley: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition. Players first started having problems with the new version of the game shortly after it released in December 2025, though ConcernedApe and his small crew of developers quickly got to work to address key issues. However, a crucial error with crafting in the Switch 2 version of Stardew Valley was removing the incorrect ingredients from players’ inventories and seemingly took some time to resolve, with the bug finally being patched out with the February update. Other important changes include improvements to the Switch 2 mouse controls and a fix to ensure network maintenance messages are able to appear in co-op gameplay sessions.

The Switch 2’s GameShare feature also needed some patching in the Stardew Valley: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition February 2026 update, with adjustments to graphics corruption issues and parental controls in GameShare sessions. For those unfamiliar, the Switch 2 allows players to share a single copy of a supported game and share it locally on up to four Switch systems. While this makes co-op sessions easier for families and friends, Stardew Valley players had been struggling to enjoy GameShare with visual bugs and a lack of parental control activation for younger players joining via GameShare. Thankfully, these problems and the others included in the patch notes have been sorted, with the full update now available to players in the United States.
Unfortunately for fans in Europe and Japan, they will need to wait a bit longer before jumping into the Switch 2 version of Stardew Valley. ConcernedApe reiterated a desire to address any and all bugs before launching the full Switch 2 Edition in other regions, though his latest message states that these global releases “will follow in a few weeks.” Fans will no doubt remember the significant delay between the PC release of Stardew Valley Update 1.6 and the big expansion’s launch on consoles, though Switch 2 players are keeping their fingers crossed that Stardew Valley: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition will have fewer bugs that will need sorting before they can finally jump into the enhanced version of Pelican Town.
ConcernedApe and his team have been balancing Switch 2 Edition fixes with work on the highly-anticipated Update 1.7 for Stardew Valley and Ape’s next original game, Haunted Chocolatier, though the latter remains a solo project for the creator for the time being. Interested fans can stay tuned for any news on future updates for Stardew Valley: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, including the European and Japanese releases of the full Switch 2 version of the game and other patches released for the beloved farming sim.
