Baldur's Gate 3 Fans Will Be Very Happy With One Of Solasta 2's Big Improvements

The early-access release date for Solasta 2 is quickly approaching, and the game features a number of big improvements over its predecessor. One particular addition could drastically change how you play the game, and it should make a lot of Baldur’s Gate 3 players very happy.

In a new video, developer Tactical Adventures and actors Devora Wilde and Ben Starr run through the big improvements coming to Solasta 2. They include the high-profile new cast members, like the aforementioned Wilde and Starr alongside Ellen Thomas (EastEnders) and Amelia Tyler (Baldur’s Gate 3).

The visuals have also been radically improved, with the game now using Unreal Engine 5. They put particular attention on character models for Solasta 2, with the level of detail rivaling Baldur’s Gate 3. If you played the first Solasta, you may remember the characters looking a little bit stiff.

The world will be much larger in Solasta 2, in comparison to the relatively small areas available to explore in its predecessor. A new world map will let you navigate it all, and you’ll find world events, “hidden rewards, and whole new story moments” to discover.

What just might be the biggest improvement, however, is the introduction of multiclassing. Previously, you were locked into a single D&D class, like Fighter or Rogue, per character. However, as BG3 players know, it can be incredibly rewarding to mix and match by adding a few levels of additional classes. You’ll be free to do this in Solasta 2, so that Sorcerer and Warlock combination you’ve dreamt of–which Devora Wilde dubs the “Sorlock”–is now viable.

Solasta 2 arrives to Steam Early Access on March 12, and its use of the D&D 5e ruleset should make it a great onboarding tool for the tabletop game. Its predecessor later released on consoles, so our fingers are crossed it eventually launches to a larger audience.
