A talented Valheim player online has shared their jaw-dropping floating city build, which has left other fans of the game stunned. The Valheim build uses various mods to enhance what is possible in the game, allowing them to push the building tools further than usual to create something truly special.
Valheim was initially released in Early Access in 2021, bringing a host of building features that allow players to create bases across the game world. These tools are very easy for new players to get to grips with, but they have tons of underlying complexity, allowing gamers who really want to master Valheim‘s building features to do so. This takes more time, of course, but the tools are there for those who are willing to learn. Over the years, Valheim players have put together some truly incredible creations with these tools. One great example was the Valheim player who recreated Middle-earth over 20 months, showcasing what is possible for those who have the time to commit to the game.

Valheim Player Uses Mods To Create Incredible Floating City
Redditor ArbbyM9er shared their incredible Valheim build, a floating city that they have dubbed The Phantom Capitol. It has so many different vibes that it’s hard to pinpoint one, and the various screenshots of the build paint it in a different light every time. In some, it’s total fantasy, while in others, it has serious steampunk vibes, yet it never looks inconsistent. This massive build isn’t just an impressive exterior, either – the screenshots reveal that just as much effort has been put into making the interiors just as detailed as everything else.

Other Valheim fans in the thread could barely believe what they were seeing with the build, with one user claiming, “I don’t think we’re quite playing the same game.” When asked, ArbbyM9er dropped a link to the world on Nexus Mods, where players can download this Valheim build and try it for themselves. According to the Nexus Mods page, the world “can put a ton of stress” on players’ PCs, so it’s recommended that only those with a powerful PC try this build.
In the thread, ArbbyM9er revealed they used various Valheim mods to bring this build to life. Two building mods (Infinity Hammer and Gizmo) were used to craft the floating city, while three graphics and texture mods were used to take screenshots and show it off. According to the creator, the floating city is actually fully vanilla-compatible for anyone who plays with zero mods installed, making it all the more impressive. For obvious reasons, exploring this Valheim build without the visual mods (Willybach’s HD, Badgers Shaders, and Render Limits) installed will result in it looking a little bit different from ArbbyM9er’s screenshots.
With Valheim remaining in Early Access after over five years, the game still has plenty for fans to look forward to. Perhaps the biggest news is that Valheim is finally coming to PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2 this year. The game has long been an Xbox console exclusive, and that will change this year. In the meantime, developer Iron Gate Studio is working on Deep North, the biome update that will finally bring Valheim to 1.0. No date has been given for this update at present, and fans shouldn’t expect to see it anytime soon.
