Resident Evil Requiem Amiibo Pricing and Release Date Revealed

Resident Evil Requiem Amiibo Pricing and Release Date Revealed

Resident Evil Requiem fans will want to get ready for July, as the matching Amiibo for the game will launch then. While Resident Evil Requiem comes out on Switch 2 at the same time as other consoles, players on the Nintendo console will have to wait significantly longer to completely unlock everything the game has to offer on that system.

Resident Evil Requiem introduces new protagonist Grace, and sees the return of series favorite Leon S. Kennedy as the two look for answers in the remnants of Raccoon City. As with most recent Resident Evil games, players will be able to unlock a variety of cosmetics, skins, and bonuses through their playthrough, but at least two unlockables on the Switch 2 won’t be accessible anytime soon.

PSA: Resident Evil Requiem Leaks and Spoilers Are All Over the Internet

Unfortunately for fans looking forward to Capcom’s long-awaited Resident Evil Requiem, spoilers for the game are flooding the internet.

Resident Evil Requiem‘s Amiibo now have a release date of July 30, 2026. Fans will be able to pick up Leon and Grace separately, as a duo pack hasn’t been announced. While pricing in the west hasn’t been revealed yet, Capcom’s Japan store currently lists both Amiibo at 3,080 yen, which is the equivalent of $19.75 USD as of publication time. While it’s possible that the price could be altered for the US market, most standard Amiibo tend to be fairly affordable, so players shouldn’t have to cough up too much money on them.

Unfortunately, this means that a pair of weapon skins on the Nintendo Switch 2 version of Resident Evil Requiem will remain locked to players for months following the launch of the game. So far, only one of the skins has been revealed, namely the weapon skin for Leon. The skin, called Neon, fits the name, with a blue, green, pink, and red color scheme that will likely stand out in the dark and gritty environments of Resident Evil Requiem. However, despite the fact that the game has launched for Nintendo Switch 2, the skin players will eventually be able to unlock with Grace’s Amiibo hasn’t been shown. It’s likely that it unlocks an equivalent neon skin for one of her weapons, but that’s unconfirmed.

Thankfully, there are still plenty of skins, filters, and more available in Resident Evil Requiem that don’t require an Amiibo to unlock. The deluxe edition of Resident Evil Requiem includes five extra costumes for the two playable characters, with Leon receiving Film Noir, Apocalypse, and Resident Evil 4 costumes, while Grace also gets a Film Noir outfit, and one that’s based off of Resident Evil Village‘s Lady Dimitrescu. Four weapon skins, two screen filters, two charms, an audio pack, and data files are also included in the deluxe edition. Those who don’t buy the deluxe edition won’t completely miss out, as there are a pair of costumes, charms, and perhaps most importantly, infinite ammo and infinite ink ribbons that can be unlocked by playing through the game, completing select challenges, and using Challenge Points.

Although Amiibo are intended to have in-game functionality, a lot of fans of the survival horror franchise will likely pick up the figures to collect and put on display, with their impact on gameplay being a lower priority. Some players likely won’t mind not being able to use the neon weapon skin at launch, or don’t plan on purchasing the Amiibo at all. However, having to wait for five months post-launch may frustrate some fans who like to 100% unlock everything in a game.

While the Amiibo news is potentially disappointing, it seems that the game itself is a hit. Early reviews of Resident Evil Requiem have been extremely positive. While Resident Evil 6 once floundered in its attempt to appeal to more traditional survival horror fans as well as those who liked the action of Resident Evil 5, it seems that Resident Evil Requiem has taken the idea of multiple playstyles and made it work. Capcom and Nintendo have also both been praised due to the game performing well on the console.
