Resident Evil Requiem Has A Big Game-Length Puzzle No Can Solve

Resident Evil Requiem Has A Big Game-Length Puzzle No Can Solve

There are a lot of puzzles in Resident Evil Requiem, but even though some reviewers have had access to the game for weeks, no one has yet figured out the most elaborate headscratcher it contains. To be honest, I didn’t even catch that there was a “Final Puzzle” either time that I played through Grace and Leon’s no good, very bad day. But given that no one’s found a solution yet, I’m not feeling too bad about that.

As places like IGN and VGC have laid out, there’s a hidden puzzle that starts near the end of Requiem’s first act. As Grace, you’ll escape the horrifying monster called The Girl while you’re exploring Rhodes Hill Chronic Care Center, and in the chase, the creature will lose one of its hands. While it’s not required, you can pick up the severed hand and take it with you, but it doesn’t have any apparent use from the get go. However, if you take it to one of the microscopes you can find in either the Blood Lab or the West Wing’s Office, you can scan it similarly to any of the blood samples you’ve received up to this point, but instead of new recipes for you to craft, you’ll be greeted with a screen with the following text:

“Let’s play.

GGC AAG AUA ACG UGU CAU”

What does this mean? It seems to be something resembling an RNA sequence, which holds a clue to one of the code-locked safes you’ve already opened elsewhere in the facility. But the puzzle doesn’t stop there, with more clues unfolding as the game goes on. The next steps become far more ridiculous and require knowledge outside the scope of the game. IGN’s guide is periodically updating as they’ve been finding new clues, but even they are still working their way through it alongside players now that the game is out.

Whatever “The Final Puzzle” ends up being, the in-game challenge list indicates that you will have completed it when “the sweet pair hear the voice,” and I’m not sure what that could possibly mean. One thing’s for sure, though; someone is going to have found out by Monday.
