Since its debut in 2022, GTA+ has primarily served Grand Theft Auto Online players and provided access to older Rockstar titles. This month, GTA+ members are also getting one of 2K Games’ sports titles for a limited time.
Starting March 10, GTA+ subscribers on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S will be able to play NBA 2K26, the latest version of the long-running basketball franchise. This will include full access to everything in the game, as well as 5,000 VC, 6 types of Skill Boosts for 5 games, and a guaranteed Diamond Player Pack. However, that last benefit will require a NBA 2K account as well.
NBA 2K26 will only be on GTA+ until April 20, but whether or not this is indicative of any changes to the membership is unknown. GTA+ has been laser-focused on Rockstar’s games—-including LA Noire, Bully, and Red Dead Redemption. But it could grow even bigger if had access to the vast library of 2K titles. The sports games alone are some of the company’s biggest hits, but older titles like the BioShock trilogy could offer even more variety to the lineup. For now, however, Rockstar hasn’t said if it will add any more non-Rockstar games to the GTA+ library going forward.
Rockstar has yet to clarify its plans for GTA+ after Grand Theft Auto 6 debuts later this year. However, it’s widely expected that GTA Online will continue in some fashion. Some video game analysts have even called GTA Online the real cash cow of the franchise, and there’s no reason to mess with that success.
GTA 6 is scheduled to hit PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19.
