Pokopia Player Builds the Bell Tower From Pokemon Gold and Silver

A Pokemon Pokopia player has showcased the incredible recreation they built of the Bell Tower from Pokemon Gold and Silver. The Pokemon Pokopia build is quite clever, with a surprising level of detail that’s drawn the attention of the community at large.

Pokemon Pokopia is still a very new game, and as a result, many players are just beginning to scratch the surface of what’s possible in it. The charming qualities of Pokopia and the freedom it gives players to get creative has drawn a lot of praise, and led many gamers who didn’t yet own Nintendo Switch 2 systems to pick up the new console. Just a week following the game’s release, one player has already built an impressive recreation of a Pokemon Gold and Silver landmark.

Pokemon Pokopia Player Builds the Bell Tower

A Pokemon fan called Ordato on Reddit has shared the impressive build they made of the Bell Tower from Pokemon Gold and Silver. The accuracy and level of detail in the build has wowed fellow fans, with the post gaining over 4,000 upvotes over the course of a single day. Though the tower isn’t quite as tall as the original, the player has done an excellent job recreating its look, particularly with the flared roofs that real-world Japanese pagodas are most recognizable for, which the Bell Tower is based upon. Though it looks like the tower is six floors, rather than the original ten stories of the Bell Tower, the build is quite large. Its large scale becomes apparent in the final screenshot, where the player can be seen standing on the roof.

Pokemon fans have showered Ordato with praise for their creation, with many expressing how shocked they are that creating something like this is possible. Several have said that the roof looks like it’s ready for Ho-Oh to land on it, while others have praised the player’s creative use of Magikarp statues on the four corners of the roof in lieu of the Ho-Oh statues in the tower’s depiction in Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver. The post has also led a lot of gamers to express hopes that more regions like Johto will be added to the Pokemon Pokopia in the future via DLC or even a sequel.

For the unfamiliar, the Bell Tower — or Tin Tower, as it is sometimes called in the English-language versions of the games — is a landmark in Johto, the region of Pokemon Gold and Silver. The tower was originally one of a pair in Ecruteak City, but after the Bell Tower’s neighboring eastern tower was destroyed by a fire from a lightning strike, only the Bell Tower remained. Legendary Pokemon Ho-Oh was known to sometimes perch on the Bell Tower prior to this occurrence, and when the other tower burned down, it revived three Pokemon who had died there, which is how Raikou, Entei, and Suicune came to exist. Players eventually climb the tower over the course of Pokemon Gold and Silver and its remake, where they can battle and capture Ho-Oh.

With it still being very early days for Pokemon Pokopia and many interested fans of the franchise not having had a chance to play it yet, chances are this is just one of many impressive creations yet to come from the community. Gamers have been known to push similar games with the ability to build, like Animal Crossing: New Horizons or Minecraft, to the absolute limit in order to create whatever they set their minds to. It will be interesting to see how far the Pokemon Pokopia community can push the game and what other landmarks from the franchise will eventually be remade in the game.
