Pokemon GO Replay Event Brings Back Gigantamax Starters

Niantic reveals the Replay: GO Bigger event happening for a limited time for Pokemon GO players in April, adding new rewards and event-specific bonuses while bringing back fan favorite Gigantamax Kanto starters. There are always new things to do in Pokemon GO, as Niantic constantly adds new limited-time events and other bonuses alongside the typical seasonal content. The latest reveal is bringing back some fan favorite Kanto Pokemon through their G-Max forms later this month.

In fact, Pokemon GO is just coming off of a couple of recent events, including a special Fashion Raid Day on April 4. For April Fools Day, Niantic finally brought Mimikyu into Pokemon GO, a generation 7 creature that fans have been waiting a long time for. While some likely considered the tease an April Fools’ Prank, Niantic confirmed it wasn’t a joke as the Ghost-type was added during the A Shockingly Good Time event. For those who managed to progress through the associated Event Pass, an encounter with Mimikyu was added in at level 30 and 60 respectively as well. Later this month, fans will once again have a chance to go head to head against some Kanto Gigantamax Pokemon.

Pokemon GO Leak Teases New Auto-Catch In-Game Item

A recent Pokemon GO leak suggests that a new game-changing virtual item with features like auto-catching could be released soon.

Pokemon GO Replay: GO Bigger Event Start Time

  • Saturday, April 25 from 2pm–5pm

In a new blog post, Niantic revealed the return of the “Giants of the Kanto region” as part of the upcoming Replay: GO Bigger event kicking off for only a few hours on April 25. Players will want to ensure they have plenty of Max Particles ready to go, as Pokemon GO Power Spots will be featuring Gigantamax forms of Venusaur, Charizard, Blastoise, and, the only non-starter of the bunch, Gengar. In addition, there’s a chance for players to discover their shiny variant forms as well.

During the Replay: GO Bigger event, Pokemon GO will also have a few event bonuses active as well. Players will be able to hold more Max Particles, with the collection limit being raised to 1,600 during the event. Power Spots will be refreshing more frequently and players can earn 8x more Max Particles along with 3 special trades for the day. Finally, Niantic is raising the daily remote raid limit from 10 to 20. There’s also an event ticket for those who want to spend some actual money, offering new timed research rewards and bonuses.

There’s more for fans to look forward to prior to the Replay: GO Bigger event. To commemorate Earth Day, Pokemon GO is holding its annual Sustainability Week event on April 14 and running through to April 20. The Galar Pokemon Silicobra, alongside its evolved form Sandaconda, will be featured during the event, as the sand snake will be appearing more often in the wild. During the special event, players may also come across rare spawns of the shiny variant Toedscool and Galarian Corsola with pink sunglasses.
