How To Start The Starfield Terran Armada DLC

How To Start The Starfield Terran Armada DLC

After a year and a half, there’s finally another DLC expansion available in Starfield. The Terran Armada expansion costs $10 for all non-Premium Edition players, and it comes alongside the Free Lanes Update, which delivers a slew of additional content to the Settled Systems.

Of course, if you own the Terran Armada expansion, you likely want to hop straight into that after downloading the new update. Unfortunately, the expansion isn’t automatically added to your mission log in Starfield, as you need to manually start the first quest before you’re able to begin fighting the Terran Armada. Below, you can see exactly what you need to do to start the Terran Armada DLC.

How to start the Terran Armada expansion in Starfield

For starters, Starfield recommends players be level 50 or higher to start the Terran Armada DLC. While you can certainly stretch that level requirement and only be around level 35-40, you’ll want to be fairly far along in the main story before attempting the expansion.

That said, Terran Armada doesn’t require you to beat the main story or even progress more than a few hours into it. All you have to do is reach Akila City through the main story, which happens within the first three to four hours of the game. Once you’ve reached Akila City, you can tune into the local SSNN broadcast and hear about the Terran Armada for the first time.

The SSNN broadcast station is located to the left of the central building in Akila City, but as soon as you walk near the building, the broadcast will play overhead. The SSNN warns about the Terran Armada and plays a message from them, as they claim they are the true children of Earth.

After listening to the whole broadcast, you’ll receive a new quest in your mission log called “Attack of the Terran Armada.” You can track the quest and get a prompt to join the search party for the Terran Armada in the Nirvana system, which is located toward the bottom-right of your galaxy map.

If you travel to the Nirvana system, you can meet up with a ship called the “Olokun,” and its captain will tell you to search a nearby asteroid field. You can use the new Cruise Control feature in Starfield, which came with the Free Lanes update, to reach the asteroid field and begin searching for any sign of the Terran Armada.

And with that, you’ve officially begun the Terran Armada DLC in Starfield.
