YouTuber Who Lost Lawsuit Against Billy Mitchell Is Now Suing Him

YouTuber Who Lost Lawsuit Against Billy Mitchell Is Now Suing Him

For some reason, the worst legal drama on streaming platforms is getting a second season, as YouTuber Karl Jobst has filed a lawsuit with the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida against former Donkey Kong high score record holder Billy Mitchell, accusing the gamer and hot sauce manufacturer of “unauthorized appropriation of name or likeness,” “defamation,” and “intentional infliction of emotional distress.”

As spotted by Dexerto, the suit was filed against Mitchell on April 6. The lawsuit also refers to Jobst as a “Pro Se Plaintiff,” meaning he is representing himself without legal counsel. For context, Mitchell won his defamation suit against Jobst in the Australian District Court of Queensland on April 1, 2025.

However, losing the defamation suit against Mitchell was just the start of Jobst’s worries. As the headlines that followed its conclusion revealed, contrary to the many claims Jobst had made through his YouTube videos and his “Legal Defence Fund” GoFundMe, Mitchell wasn’t actually suing Jobst for accusing him of cheating his way to attaining video game world records.

Instead, Mitchell launched his defamation suit against Jobst because the content creator had stated that the suicide of YouTuber Apollo Legend was due in part to a separate lawsuit that Mitchell lodged against him. Following this revelation, Jobst’s credibility took an immediate nosedive, as some fans believed that he had intentionally misled them regarding the nature of the lawsuit.

Curiously, the basis of Jobst’s argument in the latest suit in the Southern District of Florida uses several of Mitchell’s posts on X as evidence of defamation, including one in which Mitchell states Jobst “SCAMMED $200,000, WENT BANKRUPT, AND LOST EVERY SHRED OF CREDIBILITY…” The curious part here is that Jobst uses these posts as evidence that Mitchell accused him of misleading his GoFundMe donors, but the suit itself seemingly doesn’t mention Apollo Legend a single time.

I LIED FOR FOUR YEARS, SCAMMED $200,000, WENT BANKRUPT, AND LOST EVERY SHRED OF CREDIBILITY TO MY NAME BUT AT LEAST I’M PROBABLY TOO MUCH OF A LAZY, BROKE, AND UNETHICAL SCUMBAG TO EVER FULLY PAY KING BILLY’S $1,000,000 AHHHHHHH I WIN! pic.twitter.com/3WqEfZ0yd1

— Billy Mitchell (@BillyPacMan) August 11, 2025

The suit closes by stating that Jobst “suffered severe emotional distress, including mental anguish, humiliation, embarrassment, and ongoing emotional harm” as a “direct proximate result of Mitchell’s conduct.”

Mitchell seemingly indirectly referred to the latest lawsuit in a post on X earlier this morning, in which he stated: “I look forward to winning Best Supporting Actor again.” This appears to be a reference to Kiwi Farms’ “Lowcow of the Year Awards 2025,” during which Mitchell was awarded the win in the “Best Supporting Actor” category.
