You might have been facing progression issues in Pokopia recently that have prevented you from enjoying the game to its full potential. Now, a new Pokopia update has rolled out that fixes those issues, along with some other lesser-known problems that you may not have even noticed.
There are several in-game tasks that were blocked by a set of circumstances you may not even have figured out. While in the Bleak Beach–one of the game’s later areas–attempting to complete the Find the Pokemon Center! quest for Professor Tangrowth had some players stumped. It turns out that if the cracked blocks on the bridge were broken before the Professor had the chance to cross it, the request would become difficult to progress. Similarly, a “specific sequence of actions” would also prevent the bridge-repair quest from triggering, meaning you couldn’t continue the main story.
Problems occurred in the early game too. In the Withered Wasteland, Squirtle had a tendency to accidentally climb a nearby tree, making him impossible to talk to, and hindering progress there. In Rocky Ridges, the Clear Off the Path! quest could have progression blocked “under certain conditions” and occasionally the story-essential CD-playing Rotom wouldn’t appear for you to meet. If you’re further through Pokopia’s main story, you’ll know that’s pretty much a game-breaking problem.
The main issues, though, relate to players who are just a bit too eager to restore the area and beautify it. For those who placed blocks over Snorlax’s cave without realizing he was in there, snoozing away, it’s easy to understand how you might miss him entirely. This was a similar story for Hitmonchan’s questline–if blocks, houses, or other builds were placed over the cracked blocks near him, it would be difficult to understand how to proceed.
The full Pokopia patch notes are on the Nintendo website and are as follows:
Latest update: Ver. 1.0.2 (Released March 17, 2026)
We have implemented improvements to address the following issues:
- During the request “Rock Smash your way to treasure!” in Withered Wasteland, if the player places other blocks over the cracked blocks near Hitmonchan, it becomes difficult to understand how to progress the request.
- During the request “To Snorlax!” in Bleak Beach, if the player places other blocks over the cracked blocks near Snorlax, it becomes difficult to understand how to progress the request.
Additionally, the following issues have been fixed.
If these issues have already occurred in your game, applying this update will resolve them.
- During the request “Help make a home!” in Withered Wasteland, Squirtle may move on top of a tree and become impossible to talk to, preventing progress.
- During the request “Find the Pokémon Center!” in Bleak Beach, if the cracked blocks on the bridge are broken before Professor Tangrowth crosses the bridge, it will become difficult to make progress on the request.
- During the request “Find the Pokémon Center!” in Bleak Beach, a specific sequence of actions may prevent Professor Tangrowth’s bridge repair request from triggering, preventing progress.
- In Rocky Ridges, a specific sequence of actions may prevent the event in which the player meets Rotom from occurring.
- During the request “Clear off the path!” in Rocky Ridges, if the request is triggered under certain conditions, it will become difficult to make progress on the request.
- Spinarak’s type is listed incorrectly in the Pokédex.
Since it’s release, this is the first major update to Pokopia. A previous one on March 3 simply addressed “several issues” to “improve the gameplay experience” although these weren’t detailed with patch notes.
