The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake launches on November 5, but an entire Zelda-themed Switch is arriving a week before that. The Legend of Zelda – 40th Anniversary Edition console will be available starting October 29, complete with Joy-Cons that actually look really neat.
Revealed during today’s Zelda Direct, this is the first special-edition Switch 2 since the console debuted over a year ago. It comes with a gold Triforce on the dock and forest-green Joy-Con controllers with their own subtle Triforce emblems.
This also marks the first time since the new console shipped that Nintendo will be selling Joy-Con that aren’t just black on the outside. A pair of purple and mint Joy-Cons for Splatoon Raiders released earlier this year and were exceedingly boring-looking.
Alongside the special-edition Switch 2, Nintendo is also releasing a Zelda-themed Switch 2 Pro controller and Switch 2 carrying case, each complete with similar Triforce colors and iconography. They all look very cool, though we still don’t have official prices yet.
The Zelda 40th Anniversary lineup extends to new amiibo for Ocarina of Time as well. While the game’s graphical style is proving controversial for some, the amiibo—a young link and young Zelda—are some of the best-looking ones Nintendo’s produced.
