All Newly Canceled Ubisoft Games Revealed in Leak

Apart from the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake, Ubisoft has reportedly canceled multiple Assassin’s Creed projects and several multiplayer games as part of its recent reorganization. That is according to a new leak that claims to reveal every single project that did not survive Ubisoft’s January restructuring.

Faced with a string of commercial misses, bloated operating expenditures, and a cratering stock price, Ubisoft announced some difficult decisions in late January 2026. The French developer-publisher said it would overhaul its entire operating model by reorganizing into five genre-focused “Creative Houses,” while simultaneously downsizing its organization through studio closures and targeted layoffs. At the time, company representatives said the group had canceled six projects as part of these efforts. However, only the remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time was mentioned by name.

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Remake Rumors Are Heating Up Thanks to a New Discovery

The rumors and speculation of an Assassin’s Creed Black Flag remake or remaster heat up even more, all thanks to a new discovery.

Ubisoft Reportedly Canceled Several Multiplayer Games Last Month

A new report by Insider Gaming now claims to reveal the other five projects Ubisoft shelved in January 2026. One was reportedly not a new game but a plan to continue supporting the 2018 mobile RPG Assassin’s Creed Rebellion with additional content. The other four are said to consist of Project Aether, Project Pathfinder, Project Crest, and Assassin’s Creed Singularity. The list includes several multiplayer games that are believed to have been in early stages of development, making the decision to cancel them easier for Ubisoft because the company had not yet committed significant resources to them.

Project Pathfinder was previously known as Project U, with its first mention dating back to September 2022, when Ubisoft described it as a “session-based” co-op shooter. Following several years’ worth of beta testing, Project U was reportedly rebooted in March 2024. Ubisoft was said to have raised concerns about its long-term engagement (replayability), but senior executives believed there was room in the market for another co-op shooter and therefore opted to return the project to the drawing board rather than shelve it. France-based Ubisoft Annecy reportedly led development of the original concept, though Project Pathfinder is said to have changed studios following the reboot. The fate of its second developer is unclear at this time.

Project Crest is among the more mysterious titles from the January 2026 cancellation wave. 2025 rumors describe it as an extraction shooter with a World War 2 setting, but without revealing any further details. Ubisoft flirted early with extraction-style PvPvE through The Division’s Dark Zone, where players had to secure loot via helicopter extractions, but the modern extraction-shooter template is most commonly associated with Escape from Tarkov. Ubisoft has yet to deliver a single breakout hit in this space.

Implied by Halifax closure

Released in 2018; Ubisoft supposedly canceled its future support plans.

While the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake is the only cancellation mentioned in Insider Gaming’s latest report to be formally confirmed by Ubisoft, the reported end-of-life for Assassin’s Creed Rebellion comes close. Although the mobile game’s official social media accounts have not announced its discontinuation, its publisher and co-developer, Ubisoft Halifax, shut down in January 2026. The closure suggests that no further content updates are planned for Assassin’s Creed Rebellion.
