All Pokemon Pokopia Food, Cooking Recipes, And Effects

In Pokemon Pokopia, you’re not only tasked with building habitats for Pokemon, but sometimes you’ll be requested to provide them with specific food items. Cooking up some recipes can also be beneficial to you and power up Ditto’s moves. In this guide, we’ll explain all of the different food items and recipes found in Pokopia, as well as how to cook them and the benefits they provide.

How to unlock cooking in Pokopia

You unlock the ability to cook after you reach the Great rank in your Pokedex and open the gate to Rocky Ridges. From there, you’ll need to start the main questline for Rocky Ridges and meet Chef Dente.

Chef Dente will explain the basics in a tutorial for cutting leaves for a salad and baking bread in an oven. There are some more complex recipes the Pokemon will request from you, but don’t worry, we’ll guide you through cooking each one.

All food types and ingredients in Pokopia

Pokopia has four different types of food items:

  • Salad
  • Bread
  • Hamburgers
  • Soup

All ingredients available to use in recipes:

  • Bean – Sweet
  • Tomato – Sour
  • Wheat – Dry
  • Potato – Bitter
  • Carrot – Spicy
  • Seaweed – Bitter
  • Cave Mushrooms – Dry
  • Leppa Berry – No flavor
  • Chesto Berry – Dry
  • Rawst Berry – Bitter
  • Pecha Berry – Sweet
  • Aspear Berry – Sour
  • Lum Berry – No flavor
  • Fresh Water – No flavor
  • Moomoo Milk – Sweet
  • Soda Pop – Sour
  • Chili Sauce – Spicy
  • Roserade Tea – Dry

Each food type has six different variants that you can cook. Additionally, each food type will require a different cooking utensil and will power up a different move based on that specific food type. Some Pokemon also request certain food flavors, so we’ll highlight whether the food is sour, sweet, bitter, spicy, or generic. Those flavors are beneficial when it comes to considering what you want to feed to Mosslax that day. There are several Mosslax food effects that trigger when gifting him an item. You can do this once per day. You can also gift a Pokemon a food item of its preferred flavor to increase its comfort level.

There are several variations for each item you can cook. Below is every food category, the various recipes, and the power-up you’ll receive.

Salad effects and recipes

Salads are the first recipe you’ll learn from Chef Dente. As explained in the cooking tutorial, you’ll need a chopping board and at least one leaf to make a salad.

All Salads will boost the power of your Leafage move, which increases the range of grass you can pull up, as well as allow you to pull duckweed out of the water and moss tiles out of stone.

  • Simple Salad: Requires one leaf plus one of any other ingredient. The flavor is generic/no specific flavor.
  • Leppa Salad: Requires one leaf combined with one Leppa Berry. The flavor is sweet.
  • Seaweed Salad: Requires one leaf combined with one seaweed. The flavor is bitter.
  • Crouton Salad: Requires one leaf combined with one bread. The flavor is spicy.
  • Shredded Salad: Requires one leaf combined with any one of any other ingredient. You need to have a Pokemon with the “Chop” ability follow you to the cutting board, such as Dartrix, Scyther, Scizor. The food flavor is sour.
  • Crushed-Berry Salad: Requires one leaf combined with one Chesto Berry. You’ll need to bring a Pokemon with the Crush ability (such as Onix and Conkeldurr) with you to the cutting board. The food flavor is dry.

Bread effects and recipes

To make bread, you need a Bread Oven, which is an item you’ll also get through the Rocky Ridges questline. Torkoal will teach you how to make the oven, and then you’ll need them or another fire Pokemon to heat it up for the first time.

Eating bread will give a boost to your “Cut” move. It allows you to charge up your cut to slice through metal gates and cut more items at once.

  • Simple Bread: Requires you to bake one wheat with any two other ingredients. This food is generic/no specific flavor.
  • Leppa Bread: Requires one wheat, one Leppa Berry, and any one other ingredient. This food is sour in flavor.
  • Carrot Bread: Requires one wheat, one carrot, and any one other ingredient. This food is spicy in flavor.
  • Fluffy Bread: Requires one wheat, one Pecha Berry, and any one other ingredient. This food is sweet in flavor. (Bring any water Pokemon to the oven with you)
  • Bread Bowl: Requires one wheat, one soup, and any one other ingredient. The food is spicy in flavor. (Bring any Pokemon with the burn ability to the oven with you)
  • Recycled Bread: Requires one wheat, one carrot, and any one other ingredient. This food is sweet in flavor. (Bring any Pokemon with the recycle ability to the oven with you)

Hamburger Steak effects and recipes

No Caption Provided

Chef Dente will teach you how to make Hamburger Steak during your cooking lessons in Rocky Ridges. Hamburger Steaks are more like veggie burgers, so you’ll need at least one bean and a frying pan on a stovetop.

Eating burgers will power up your Rock Smash move to allow you to punch through tiles with harder materials, such as iron ore, gold ore, glowing stone, and Pokemetal. You’ll want to keep burgers in your inventory when mining for these resources.

  • Hamburger Steak: Requires one bean combined with any other three ingredients. The flavor is generic/no specific flavor.
  • Tomato Hamburger Steak: Requires one bean and one tomato combined with any other two ingredients. The flavor is sour.
  • Mushroom Hamburger Steak: Requires one bean and one cave mushroom with any other two ingredients. The flavor is dry.
  • Bitter Hamburger Steak: Requires one bean and one Rawst Berry with any other two ingredients. As the name suggests, the flavor is bitter.
  • Vibrant Hamburger Steak: Requires one bean, one Simple Salad, and one potato combined with any one other ingredient. The flavor is generic/no specific flavor.
  • Potato Hamburger Steak: Requires one bean and one potato with any two other ingredients. You’ll need to bring a Pokemon with the “generate” ability to the stovetop with you, such as Mareep, Pawmi, or Electabuzz. The flavor of this food is sweet.

Soup effects and recipes

Soup is a food item that you don’t learn about with Chef Dente’s cooking lessons in Rocky Ridges. To make soup, you’ll first need a cooking pot placed on a stove. You’ll also need at least one Fresh Water, which is an item you can either buy from a PC at a Pokemon Center or get as a random drop from a powered-up vending machine. It’s also worth noting that drinks from vending machines are rarer than other ingredients, and you likely only want to use a drink if the recipe calls for it.

Consuming soup will upgrade your Water Gun move, allowing you to water more tiles at once for faster watering of trees, grass, and crops.

  • Simple Soup: Requires one fresh water combined with any two other ingredients. The flavor is generic/no specific flavor.
  • Seaweed Soup: Requires one fresh water, one seaweed, and any one other ingredient. The flavor is bitter.
  • Healthy Soup: Requires one fresh water, one bean, and one leaf. This food is spicy in flavor.
  • Mushroom Soup: Requires one fresh water, one cave mushroom, and any one other ingredient. The flavor is dry.
  • Flavourful Soup: Requires one fresh water, one Aspear Berry, and one hamburger steak. The flavor is sour.
  • Electrifying Soup: Requires one fresh water and any two other ingredients. You’ll need to bring a Pokemon with the “generate” ability to the cooking pot, such as Mareep, Pawmi, or Electabuzz. The flavor of this food is spicy.
