Grand Theft Auto VI has been scaring away basically every other major publisher from releasing a game in November 2026. Except the rights holder to a cult-hit 2002 GameCube fighting game. According to a new leak, a remaster of Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee will arrive just a couple weeks earlier. Finally, something else to play that month.

Billbil-kun at Dealabs Magazine reports that the the currently unannounced game will arrive on November 3 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Switch 2. It’s being developed by Pipeworks and published by Atari, and will arrive with some new bells and whistles. Those include a new online multiplayer mode, overhauled graphics and unlock systems, and additional single-player story content.

If you’ve never played Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee, it’s essentially a game where you rampage through big retro-futuristic cities fighting other monsters and save Earth while also destroying it. It lives fondly  in the memories of people who once played it at their friend’s house or rented it from blockbuster, and was actually nominated for fighting game of the year before losing out, understandably, to Tekken 4.

“Name one bad thing about Godzilla Destroy All Monsters Melee?” someone wrote on the Godzilla subreddit less than a year ago. “That it’s not remastered yet,” read the top response. The power of posting strikes again.

The other notable thing about the leaked remaster, however, is that it’s daring to encroach upon the release month of Grand Theft Auto VI when no one else has dared to. Well, except for Gothic 3 Classic. That remaster is arriving on November 24, a few days after GTA VI‘s November 19 launch.

Will Godzilla be help shatter the damn on other notable games announcing November release dates? Or perhaps Godzilla Destroy All Monsters Melee will simply scare them away even more.
