April 24 Is a Big Day for Genshin Impact Fans

Genshin Impact has officially confirmed Snezhnaya as the next region of Teyvat, as April 24 will feature a first look into the Cryo Nation, with its first map expansion slated for Version 7.0. Seven Archons, seven nations – Genshin Impact is about to cross a major milestone as it sets the stage for a full reveal of Snezhnaya. For most of its history, Genshin Impact has advertised the Traveler’s journey as an adventure across the seven nations of Teyvat, recognized for the authority bestowed on its Archons by Celestia.

While technically under Snezhnaya’s sphere of influence, Nod-Krai was a meaningful detour in that it managed to tie up several loose threads from Genshin Impact‘s narrative, with Version 6.6 slated to be the final Act in the Song of the Welkin Moon’s storyline. It gave HoYoverse the opportunity to set up key pieces of lore for Snezhnaya, with Hyperborea and its fae being the most obvious example. Nod-Krai was also notable for bringing Lunar Reactions to Genshin Impact, a decision that seems to have inspired the developers to add Stellar Reactions in Snezhnaya, as recently datamined from the beta build for Version 6.6.

A reliable source in the Genshin Impact community reveals which 5-Stars will make up the Event Banners in the Hexerei-heavy Version 6.6.

Genshin Impact: Behind the Scenes for Snezhaya Coming on April 24

On April 24, 2026, Genshin Impact will release a behind-the-scenes video about the upcoming region of Snezhnaya. The announcement was made on the game’s official social media account on Twitter, Reddit, and more, with the exact release time scheduled for April 24, 2026, at 8:00 AM (UTC-4). It will be the first official preview of Snezhnaya for the Genshin Impact community, though the depth of the reveal will depend on a few important factors. Version 6.7 is rumored to debut Stellar-Conduct as the first Stellar Reaction in Genshin Impact. However, it is also rumored to be the final update in the Nod-Krai patch cycle.

Though every region since Sumeru had rumors of only featuring eight updates instead of nine, the way HoYoverse schedules around Genshin Impact‘s anniversary may have finally forced its hand. With a Version 6.8, Genshin Impact would be forced to feature two anniversary events in Snezhnaya’s patch cycle (Version 7.0 and Version 7.8). By removing Version 6.8, the schedule becomes future-proof for the next couple of regions. Moreover, assuming Sandrone is the sole-featured character of Version 6.7, Nod-Krai would still make the expected seventeen Genshin Impact characters per region (with the Manekins from Miliastra Wonderland counting towards the number).

Assuming Version 6.7 is the last update of Nod-Krai in Genshin Impact, then players can expect to see a detailed preview of Snezhnaya in the coming weeks, starting with April 24. In such an event, the Cryo Nation would open its doors to the Traveler during the height of summer on August 12, 2026. However, if Nod-Krai does feature a Version 6.8, then Snezhnaya’s reveal will be more subdued, with most of the information coming out in bursts during June or July, with its release date being on September 23, 2026.

Whichever direction HoYoverse chooses for Snezhnaya, Genshin Impact players can certainly expect to see a glimpse of the upcoming region on April 24. Whereas Nod-Krai was heavily influenced by a variety of Scandinavian, Baltic, Balkan, and Slavic cultures, Snezhnaya was always expected to dive deep into Russian culture. Whether HoYoverse has stuck to this plan for its vision of Snezhnaya remains to be seen, but it will no doubt be discussed in the upcoming developer video.
