Embark Studios CEO Patrick Söderlund believes Speranza is currently “underutilized,” as requests from the ARC Raiders community for an interactive social hub continue to intensify. As Embark has committed to supporting ARC Raiders for the next decade, the live-service title will likely undergo many changes over the coming months and years, and one big improvement many players are eager to see is an overhaul of Speranza.
ARC Raiders has, undoubtedly, been Embark’s biggest success to date. Recent data show the extraction shooter has sold 14 million copies to date, averaging around 6 million active players per week across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. However, it hasn’t been without its issues. Just this week, ARC Raiders suffered from two severe exploits that required the development team to act quickly. The first of the two glitches saw players duplicating items such as grenades and Rubber Ducks, making the game borderline unplayable for many hours. Thankfully, Embark promptly released a new hotfix to address the exploit, only for an infinite-ammo glitch to be discovered just hours later.
Over 16,000 ARC Raiders Fans Agree That the Game Desperately Needs 1 Fix
Thousands of fans urge Embark Studios to fix one ARC Raiders issue as soon as possible, and it’s not about exploits or glitches.
ARC Raiders CEO Says Speranza Is “Underutilized”
While Embark has been working around the clock to release bug fixes, squash never-ending exploits, and implement quality-of-life improvements, fans are eager to see more content make its way to the game. One such feature fans have been requesting for months now is the addition of a social hub in Speranza. During a new interview with IGN, Embark’s CEO admitted that the game’s lobby (known as Speranza) is “heavily underutilized.” When asked about the PvE aspect of ARC Raiders, Söderlund explained how the studio is looking at what aspects to “double down on,” noting how he is “personally touched by all the social elements to [ARC Raiders].”
“I think Speranza is heavily underutilized, personally. I think that’s something that we want to, probably, improve and make into something else.”
The CEO then referenced requests for a “meeting point” in Speranza, something he thinks “could be cool.” While Söderlund didn’t outright confirm that a social hub will be added to ARC Raiders in the future, it’s clear that he’s all for the idea. “It also deepens what I think is something that players maybe want more of, which is the lore of ARC Raiders. So, we look at it from multiple angles and multiple perspectives, and then, as we build content as quickly and fast as we can, we try and push updates and changes into the game that does more of what we believe is great about this game,” Söderlund said.
This isn’t the first time that Embark Studios has acknowledged requests for a social hub in ARC Raiders. Earlier this year, design director Virgil Watkins sat down with PCGamesN and said the team had “100% discussed” adding such a feature to the game. The developer says it ultimately comes down to time and scope, noting how it “traded other features” for a social hub while the shooter was still in development. Watkins also believes a walkable hub would still need to preserve the menu so that players can still do things quickly without walking back and forth between traders. The good news is that he says the team will “continue to discuss” the feature and that there is “definitely a good appetite on the team for it as well.”
Unfortunately, if a social hub is ever added to ARC Raiders, it’s likely going to be quite some time before it’s ready to go. Embark Studios is currently gearing up to release the new Shrouded Sky update later this month, which will be the second major content update to arrive as part of ARC Raiders‘ 2026 roadmap. Fans can expect the free patch to add a new map condition, a new ARC threat, a new Raider Deck, an update to one of the game’s existing maps, and much more. Further updates will then arrive in March and April, with the latter set to add a brand-new map and a new large ARC enemy.
