ARC Raiders Issues Statement After Players Were Banned for Using Accessibility Controllers

Following a recent ban wave that seemingly impacted ARC Raiders users with accessibility-style controllers, Embark Studios issued a statement on social media, addressing the situation and how it plans to resolve it. Although ARC Raiders hasn’t seen a ton of controversial issues since it launched last year, pressure appears to be mounting for Embark to maintain its level of success, especially now that it has other competitors like Bungie’s Marathon attempting to steal the game’s current extraction crown.

After launching on October 30, 2025, ARC Raiders became one of 2025’s biggest games, capturing a massive base of players in a specific genre that isn’t known to be very mainstream friendly. Embark seemed to be pushing all the right buttons, as the game not only managed to maintain its players throughout the rest of the year, but remained relatively free of major issues or controversies. That’s not to say the game was perfect, it definitely experienced a handful of frustrations, but for the most part, ARC Raiders continued to lead the way in its genre. However, in recent weeks, many players may be starting to feel a bit frustrated at the current state of the game.

ARC Raiders Players Aren’t Happy With New ‘Devotee’ Skin

Embark Studios releases a brand-new skin as part of this week’s ARC Raiders update, but fans have already blasted the outfit as “weird.”

ARC Raiders Working to Resolve False Bans

In a new post on the ARC Raiders social media account, Embark Studios revealed that it has received reports of some players being accidentally banned over the use of accessibility controllers. This ban wave doesn’t appear to have been intentional, as Embark confirmed the studio is “working hard on resolving this issue as soon as possible.” The support team is currently reviewing all appeals of the bans, and the studio encouraged folks who have been impacted to continue reaching out. Unfortunately, there isn’t any mention of a wider fix, so it appears that this is strictly on an individual basis for those who have appealed. It stands to reason that Embark will likely address whatever caused the controllers to be flagged in the first place for future updates.

Interestingly enough, most of the comments under the post didn’t have anything to do with the announcement. Many comments on Embark’s announcement were instead focused on what appears to be a rise in server crashes, responding in frustration over runs that were cut short due to the server error or those who lost valuable items due to the instability. It appears the issue is also impacting current ARC Raiders trials progress as well, so players should be careful until Embark identifies and fixes whatever is going on.

Many linked the server issues to the recent ARC Raiders update that arrived earlier in the day. While there’s currently not official link between the update and recent server instability at the time of writing, the overall vibe of the changes doesn’t appear to be very positive, especially with the Il Toro shotgun nerfs. Essentially, the powerful weapon saw its DPS, fire-rate, reload time, and overall range slightly reduced, requiring players to invest in the gun with upgrades and mods to have the gun really pack a punch. The update also added more cosmetic options, including two new hairstyles as well as the Rawhide Outfit.

Many remain concerned over recent cheating and exploit situations that have impacted ARC Raiders. A duplication glitch back in February caused all sorts of chaos, making raids nearly unplayable as players spammed items like trigger nades. Thankfully, Embark moved quickly to fix the issue with a server-side fix, but cheating in general remains a real concern for players. A few months ago, the cheating issues really came to a head, as many vocal players in the community threatened to quit over the rampant cheaters impacting matches. Embark resolved to permanently banning those caught, which has helped, but it still hasn’t fully addressed the root problem which continues to impact players.
