ARC Raiders Players Are Dying in Droves to 1 Player

ARC Raiders Players Are Dying in Droves to 1 Player

The former pro gamer THump has gained a lot of attention lately for taking down groups of ARC Raiders players teaming up in the extraction shooter’s solo lobbies, reigniting the debate around the title’s PvP elements. ARC Raiders was originally released on October 30, 2025, and is currently available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

Embark Studios’ extraction shooter quickly became one of the most talked about games of 2025 shortly after its release. ARC Raiders features PvP and PvE elements, which has often caused a bit of friction within the community. Shortly after the title made its debut, clips of players teaming up against the game’s bots flooded the internet. In fact, the third-person shooter gained a reputation for having a cooperative community, as solo players would regularly declare themselves friendly and begin to team up against larger threats. There have been numerous videos showing players taking down massive enemies, splitting up the loot, and extracting without an issue. However, there are also plenty of clips that involve betrayal, where someone who has been friendly suddenly turns on their allies at extraction. Videos have also shown that plenty of players are exclusively interested in PvP and will hunt down anyone, even those who are attempting to be friendly. It’s all part of the ARC Raiders experience, but one streamer has gained a lot of attention for being particularly unfriendly in his encounters with others.

“We’re Way Worse People” ARC Raiders Devs Weren’t as Nice During Playtesting as the Community Has Been

ARC Raiders’ community has surprised players with goodwill, especially after devs admitted they were far more ruthless during the game’s playtesting.

Former Pro Gamer THump Is Hunting Players Teaming up in Arc Raiders

In a recent post on Twitter, the streamer and former pro gamer THump stated, “I love killing grown men that have jobs and children as they are trying to get 5 million credits for the expedition.” THump is referencing ARC Raiders‘ optional expedition, which rewards players who choose to give up many of their blueprints and upgrades to gain some permanent perks on their account. He even declared that he would be taking down anyone he sees teaming up in solos in ARC Raiders. The post also included a clip where THump can be seen eliminating several players. According to one of the gamers, the match had just started, and they had nothing valuable in their inventory. Of course, the player also could have been lying, as it’s possible for someone to have great loot at the beginning of a match if the person brought in items from their stash.

The clip has received a wide variety of reactions from other players, with some supporting THump and others claiming that his actions make the game worse for everyone. When one person said that PvP is optional in ARC Raiders, THump replied by saying, “I come from a place where PvP is not optional. It’s a way of life. You want optional PvP go play WoW.” Of course, here THump is referring to the longstanding MMO World of Warcraft, which features PvP in designated areas and modes. It’s possible to play WoW without engaging in PvP at all, which is likely THump’s point. It’s worth noting that none of the players in these clips have done anything wrong. Teaming up is well within the rules and happens regularly in solo lobbies. However, it should also be noted that THump has also done nothing against the rules. This is more of a community debate on etiquette than anything else, but it’s one that comes up all the time, as ARC Raiders‘ approach to blended PvP and PvE content has pulled in a lot of players with differing expectations.

It seems as if Embark Studios is aware of the community’s differing expectations, as it was recently revealed that ARC Raiders‘ matchmaking takes a player’s habits into account. For instance, someone who is known to be aggressive is more likely to be placed in a lobby with gamers who have exhibited similar behaviors. Likewise, peaceful players are also more likely to end up with one another, but this doesn’t mean gamers will encounter like-minded players exclusively. Despite occasional friction, both PvP and PvE are baked into the ARC Raiders experience, and the title likely wouldn’t be the same if it simply embraced just one or the other. With so much content to enjoy and even more on the way, many fans are feeling optimistic about the future of ARC Raiders.
