Embark Studios has confirmed it will be returning loadouts to some ARC Raiders players after the game’s servers became unstable for approximately 12 hours, resulting in some players unfairly losing their weapons and gear due to the issues. ARC Raiders‘ servers are once again operational at the time of writing this article, but anybody who was affected by the outage and lost a loadout will want to keep an eye on their in-game inboxes, as Embark has now begun returning kits to players.
ARC Raiders has been a huge success for Embark following its launch last October, picking up Best Multiplayer at the 2025 Game Awards, becoming one of Steam’s most played games, receiving rave reviews from both players and critics, and selling over 12 million copies in its first few months. The studio has also maintained player interest thanks to a steady stream of major content updates, adding new enemy types, map conditions, weapons, and more throughout the back end of 2025 and the first months of 2026. And the best is still to come, as Embark is now gearing up to release a brand-new map and a new large ARC enemy in April’s much-anticipated Riven Tides update.
“We Want More For Them” ARC Raiders Dev Addresses Lack of Endgame Content
ARC Raiders developer Embark Studios responds to long-time players’ complaints over the lack of endgame content in the hit extraction shooter.
Embark Is Returning Loadouts to Some ARC Raiders Players
In the late hours of April 1, Embark Studios confirmed that ARC Raiders was experiencing server issues. Players around the world were reporting crashes on all platforms and unstable matches, which resulted in many, many lost kits. The problems began at around 9:30 PM ET on April 1 and lasted for approximately 12 hours. At around 8 AM ET the following morning, Embark took to the official ARC Raiders Discord with a new statement, confirming that servers were recovering and back to normal. Then, a follow-up statement from the studio’s community manager revealed that players affected by the outage will have any lost kits returned to them. “Due to the server issues that happened earlier today, we will be sending out some lost loadouts, please check your inbox in-game,” the studio said.

With loadouts being of vital importance in ARC Raiders, this is great news for players who may have lost some of their most valuable loot due to the unexpected outage. Embark has been on the ball when it comes to returning loadouts to players, as the studio regularly returns gear to any players who lost their loadouts due to unfair play, such as being killed by a cheater. It’s not a foolproof system, but anybody who believes they have been taken out due to hacks, cheats, or exploits can report said player, and if Embark finds that they were in breach of the game’s terms of service, they will receive a temporary ban and gear will be returned to affected players.
Anybody who was rocking one of the two new weapons from ARC Raiders‘ Flashpoint update can also breathe a sigh of relief, as there’s a good chance their gear will be returned in the coming hours. For those who haven’t come across the new weapons yet, the Canto is a submachine gun that uses medium ammunition, perfect for any PvE engagements against the ARC or PvP battles against other Raiders. Then there’s the Dolabra, which is already becoming a fan favorite in the community. It’s a new shotgun that uses energy ammo and has two different firing modes: a variable focus allowing players to fire off a wide burst, or a focused funnel of electricity.
Unfortunately, the new Flashpoint update doesn’t appear to have done much to save ARC Raiders‘ falling player count on Steam. Although the shooter still maintains a healthy 140,000+ concurrent players each day on the platform, it was previously averaging around 250,000 concurrent players in the months prior to the Flashpoint update. But with players making it clear that there needs to be more endgame content, it is seemingly going to take more than a new map condition and weapons to bring players back.
