The actor behind Red Dead Redemption 2 protagonist Arthur Morgan has commented on Red Dead Redemption 3, giving his thoughts on the game and whether he’d want to be in it. Though Red Dead Redemption 2 launched nearly eight years prior, the actor remains heavily involved in the community.

Given that nearly eight years have passed since Red Dead Redemption 2 released, it’s no surprise that gamers are champing at the bit for the next one. If Red Dead Redemption 3 is eventually revealed, it will likely be long after the release of Grand Theft Auto 6, which is still expected later this year. However, that doesn’t stop fans from wondering about that potential sequel.

How Red Dead Redemption 2 Changed Gaming

Red Dead Redemption 2 still continues to be a blueprint for how to immerse players in a rich world with an equally strong story.

Arthur Morgan Actor Talks Red Dead Redemption 3

Roger Clark, the actor behind Red Dead Redemption 2‘s Arthur Morgan, recently spoke with Fall Damage about his time working on the game. During the chat, Clark discussed how fans always ask him about Red Dead Redemption 3 and what he knows about it, to which he joked that the game is coming out “tomorrow after lunchtime.” When speaking more seriously, though, Clark admitted that he has no idea when the series will return, and suspects that it will be a “long time” before it happens. However, that hasn’t stifled his interest in it.

Clark also expressed excitement over the notion of Red Dead Redemption 3, saying that it would be “crazy” if Rockstar Games didn’t make a sequel. He’s level-headed about his expectations, saying that there’s no way for him to know if the future game will feature his character or any other returning faces. However, he also remains open to the idea of returning, if Rockstar Games wanted him to, explaining that he’d answer the phone if the developer called.

For now, it remains to be seen if and when Rockstar Games returns to Red Dead Redemption. Red Dead Redemption 2 has sold over 85 million copies to date, which would be considered a massive achievement for most game developers. For example, mega-hit RPG Baldur’s Gate 3 has sold 20 million copies to date, which is impressive, but a far cry from what Red Dead Redemption 2 has accomplished. However, Red Dead Redemption 2 is still largely overshadowed by Grand Theft Auto, with Grand Theft Auto 5 now having sold over 225 million copies. GTA Online also continues to earn about a million dollars a day for Take-Two Interactive, so it’s no wonder that GTA is the focus right now.

While many would love to see Arthur Morgan again in some capacity, Roger Clark isn’t the only actor that’s said they would be happy to return. Previously, John Marston actor Rob Wiethoff said that he would be interested in returning in a future game, saying he’d return “in a second” if he were given the chance. Additionally, the actress Alex McKenna, who portrayed Sadie Adler in Red Dead Redemption 2, has said she not only wants to return, but she’d love to see her character take the lead role in Red Dead Redemption 3. Since much of the main cast is enthusiastic, it’s ultimately up to Rockstar and Take-Two to decide if a new game will see returning faces or not.
