Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced players have spotted a new detail that takes place after sinking a ship that completely shows the depth of this remake. Of course, with so many copies sold of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, there’s nothing really getting past fans.

While it’s been out for a couple of weeks, the reason that this Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced detail has gone unnoticed by the public at large is how specific it is. To see this, players need to take a suboptimal route in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced‘s ship combat and then do something almost no one would think of. And yet, players did and found that developer Ubisoft Singapore (& support studios) was ahead of them.

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced’s Ships Actually Sink

The best thing to do after stalling a ship in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is to board it for full loot and bonus options, like repairing the Jackdaw. Players can sink opposing ships, close-up or at a distance (with mortars), but doing so denies players some of the most fun gameplay in boarding a ship and gives them fewer rewards. And yet, should players sink a ship, it actually sinks. It doesn’t just fall apart above the ocean and disappear beneath it, as some might expect, with players recently sinking a ship and diving into the ocean after it.

Find the odd one out before the timer hits zero.

Players are able to follow it as it sinks to the depths of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced‘s map, adding a more immersive and realistic detail to sinking ships. Of course, players aren’t going to make that dive and follow it every time, but having it happen for those who do keep the game at its best. It’s little details like this that players remember during any playthrough, and while Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced isn’t a game defined by little details by any means, it does help take the game to the next level.

As I wrote in my review of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, “At its best, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced firmly establishes the formula for new remakes in the franchise, if not what all new Assassin’s Creed games in 2026 and beyond should feel like. At its absolute bottom-of-the-ocean worst, it’s a reminder of what made the Assassin’s Creed franchise the beloved game series it was in the first place.” And I stand by it. I can only hope that Assassin’s Creed Hexe feels a bit like AC Black Flag Resynced, if with a completely different setting and vibe.

It might feel too soon to already be looking on the horizon, beyond Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, but if Ubisoft capitalizes correctly, it could be a turning point. Not only does it set the tone for upcoming Assassin’s Creed games and the quality needed for success, but it also sets the tone for future Assassin’s Creed “Resynced” games, with the very first Assassin’s Creed game rumored to get the remake treatment next.
