One classic Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced side activity is as important in the remake as it is in the original 2013 game, and fans who are diving into the latest outing from Ubisoft should complete these activities ASAP. In fact, what’s a little funny is that it’s possible (and highly advised) to do so before Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced tells players how to do it.

Overall, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced improves on all aspects of the original game, but sometimes those improvements are marginal for the better. If it’s not broken, there’s no reason to try fixing it, and that’s exactly what happened with the in-game forts.

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced’s Forts Give Tons of Benefits

As soon as players get full access to the Jackdaw and the opening map of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, they should begin making improvements to the Jackdaw before proceeding throughout the story. Across the upper portions of the map are the 3 “Easy” forts in AC Black Flag Resynced, and completing them improves fast travel, grants materials for upgrades, and is generous with Spanish Reales (the in-game currency) to continue making upgrades or acquiring other things. The Forts are perhaps best for acquiring the early Jackdaw upgrades with coin and material, as well as giving players fast travel points as they explore.

Completing Forts also unlocks and expands Kenway’s Fleet, which is a smaller, passive way to earn some extra money and otherwise engage with Edward Kenway’s core pirate fantasy.

The funny thing is that the game does not tutorialize this until Sequence 5, in the mission fittingly titled The Forts, but the best time to do this is beforehand. When players are tasked with meeting Kidd in the sequence 4 mission titled Nothing is True…, they are given all the free rein they need to start making early improvements before heading to the meet-up point. Getting Mortars should be the first goal once players begin making the earliest improvements to the Jackdaw, as they’ll go a long way in taking down the Forts. Doing so not only makes travel on the Jackdaw better, as well as Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced‘s ship combat, but they’re just fun. Players destroy a military fort and then attack it on land, and something so fun is a reward in and of itself.

Of course, there are more forts spread through the middle and lower portions of the map. Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced players should stay on top of their upgrades, even considering finding the Ultimate Plans and completing them ASAP to hit the harder forts, as soon as they can. The benefits remain throughout Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced’s entire runtime, and make endgame challenges all the easier to boot.

Beyond forts, there’s plenty of side activities to complete and locations in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced to explore, so spending time elsewhere is understandable. Still, few if any activities really rival the fun and necessity of the forts, so fans should be sure to always keep those in the back of their mind.
