Ubisoft revealed that Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced players can use a new immersion feature to see what the game’s environments will look like without a user interface. The new Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced immersion option will be available at the touch of a button, and can be toggled at any time.
Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is a remake of the original 2013 release, with some graphical updates that take advantage of the Ubisoft Anvil engine. Along with dynamic weather patterns, Black Flag Resynced utilizes ray tracing to bring the Caribbean to life on modern platforms. Despite the updated graphics, the recommended PC specs for Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced are not too steep. Ergo, PC players using older components should not have too many issues diving into the upcoming Assassin’s Creed game once it goes live on Thursday, July 9.
Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced Will Not Feature Levels or Gear Scores
Ubisoft confirms that Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced will remain an action-adventure experience free of the RPG mechanics of recent entries.
You Can Hide the UI In Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced
Along with new features, such as adaptive enemy behavior in combat, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced will also include a new immersion toggle for players to use during normal gameplay. Ubisoft demonstrated how to toggle the game’s main UI via a short clip on social media. By pressing the R3 or Right Stick button on a controller, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced players can hide or show the UI almost entirely. However, the R3 button prompt can still be seen on the top left before fading away after turning the UI back on. It is currently unclear if the R3 prompt can be completely hidden along with the rest of the UI. However, given that Ubisoft’s footage was taken from a work-in-progress game build, the UI toggle feature is still subject to change before the game’s July 9 release.
Ubisoft’s video demonstration showed that the UI can be hidden in various scenarios, such as when walking around a town, or during Black Flag Resynced‘s parkour gameplay sequences. Though it will offer a more immersive experience, hiding the UI will also prevent players from seeing if any enemies have detected them. Ergo, player discretion is advised when turning off the UI in an enemy encampment. Though hiding the user interface will also make taking screenshots much easier for some players to manage, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced will also have a new photo mode for players to utilize.
Following the game’s official reveal, Ubisoft stated that Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced will use the same game engine as Assassin’s Creed Shadows. This will allow Black Flag Resynced to take advantage of features such as DLSS upscaling, ray tracing, and other destructible environments. Game director Richard Knight stated in an AMA on Reddit that the updated Ubisoft Anvil engine at the heart of Assassin’s Creed Shadows is also at the heart of Black Flag Resynced.
